Joe Wright to Helm 'Pan'

Movie isn't as awful as being said, but its incredibly lackluster and the all of its faults can be found in the script. And oh my GOD, that ending line was bad. I actually liked Levi Miller, I just didn't think he had much to work with past the opening of the film. But again, there really doesn't feel like there's any true tension or character here. Everything feels like this cardboard cutout of what it could be, and that's why it suffers.

Hugh Jackman being introduced to Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit was both shocking, horrifying, obnoxious, and ****ing brilliant all at once

It wasn't a total failure. At least that movie is well received by the critics and is on its way to become a cult classic of sort. And no , the 2003 version was in no way a "similar " movie to Pan.

As I said it all lies in the execution.People used to think that superhero movies were bound to fail too unti someone finally got it right.
That movie in no way fits the mold of a cult classic.

After this and that Short Circuit remake, Jackman just can't catch a break outside of his X-Men movies. At least he's trying.

I haven't seen that version of Peter Pan, but until recently, it's one of those movies where people WANT it to be a cult classic but it's not catching on.

Jackman has a pretty lame record outside of X-Men. He flat out does not know how to pick good and or financially successful blockbusters/popcorn movies.

To be fair, to get to work with Joe Wright, or even Neill Bloomkamp (on paper) sounds great.

Another flop, eh?

WB's already awful year just keeps getting worse lol

I mean, there was that one movie he got nominated for an Oscar for...so he's not hurting too much.

But in terms of other action type films...yeah, he doesn't have the best track record.

Real Steel wasn't that bad. It wasn't mind-blowing or anything, but it was a pretty solid family film and, if I recall, actually did okay critically and financially.

Yeah, I think it did solid numbers. Prestige was great and still hugely underrated in my opinion as well. And I would point out that his Performance in this film is pretty much the only thing being praised.

And again, anyone that's been nominated for an Oscar within the past two years is still doing pretty solid I'd say.

Jackman still had that lame Tom Hooper movie, but it still made bank. Also, I think he has tougher competition in his age group.

I mentioned that Les Miz was a big hit for him on the other page.

I love Jackman by the way, I'm just bluntly discussing his track record in blockbuster/popcorn type of films.

So what is this supposedly horrible/ridiculous last line of Pan I keep hearing about?

According to a few pages back:
[BLACKOUT]Peter Pan: Hook, we'll always be friends right?
Captain Hook: Sure kid, what could possibly go wrong?

That is eye rolling indeed. Maybe they should have just made a Jake and the Neverland Pirates adaptation :o

I love the 03 Peter Pan. It's a great flick, and the closest to the book/play that I've seen.

Not sure about that, seems like it's almost completely forgotten.
