I'm a big fan of Scott Cooper. Both Crazy Heart and Out Of The Furnace brought out the best of their respected casts. Cooper gets good performances, simple as that. This looks like another solid entry in his underrated filmography.

I wonder how old Bulger is supposed to be at the time this film is set. Probably, what... 60s? Probably not all that far off from Depp's actual age, and it looks like they've aged him 25 years.
