Vincent Cassel, `nuff said.

he looks the part.

He's like Mr. French accent - its not like a British accent that can be somewhat easily hidden, its like in your face, pass the smelly cheese, wheres Pepe Le pu type of french accent.

I will admitt he has the look though.

I'm watching Gangsta #1 right now.. The scene where Bettany tortures and murders a man to music.. Add a little flamboyance and energy, and it screamed Joker.

Much better than Crispin Glover.

Hey, don;t knock Glover. He's awesome.

Still, I'm glad Bettany's getting the part...hopefully.

Glover may or may not be a great actor - but he is a git.

I can think of Crispin Glover as the sad stand up comedian who tried to provide for his wife but turned his life into hell with one bad decision, but I cant think of him as the exuberant, crazy, wacky, playful, messed up, homocidal maniac the Joker is

Well at least Goyer and Nolan have already written a treatment for Batman Begins, tooo bad they won't be writing the actual screenplay. That means anything could happen to Joker now, everything is up in the air again, meaning you could die in the end again. Goyer promised us he would not let us down in his own words with Joker, but now who knows.

Nolan doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who goes off on his own flights of fancy to the detriment of the characters ala Burton. It seems to me Nolan and Bale have alot of respect for the source, even if they need to change things slightly, I trust them.

change can be good, but no killing the character this time is all I ask

Paul Bettany should definitely be cast as the Joker. I can't think of a person more perfectly suited to the role of Joker this time around. I think he fits perfectly with the caliber of the existing cast which was top notch.

you dont have to worry about that - killing the Joker would be a stupid, stupid move, neither Nolan or Nolan is stupid.
