:hq: :joker: :hq: :joker: I think the joker should be dark but also attractive in a wierd sense coz then u can get the link of the joker and harley quinn

While the darker look for Joker is cool ocasionaly I don't believe it's necissary. For the most part the comics show him brightly colored with a look of lunicy. The thing about the Joker is his actions and mannerisms. Even though he looks kooky, when written well he comes off sinister and frightenting. It is the dichotomy of his apperance and his dreadful deeds that make him such a great villian. The twisting of a supposed delightful icon like the jester speaks volumes. I think the role will best be honored by the skill of the actor more so than the look.

I just wonder what name they're give the Joker, I mean real name. Right now, Jack Napier is the only name we've ever been given and it is also used in TAS aswell as Batman '89 but I don't count Batman because it's pretty much been overruled. TAS is canon, so I'm thinking they will use Jack Napier or either find away to not give him a real name. It would be possible for him to start out with the nickname Joker before the chemical incident.

I doubt he'll have a "real name." He's going to be Joker throughout. No origin. No background. No name.

That's what I'm hopin' for, anyway.

I don't want a definative origin. At most, just give mutliple scenarios.

I dont get what you mean. Canon with what? TAS is it's own contintuity, just like the old films are, the new films are, and the mainstream comics are (elseworlds tales aren't canon with the regular comics). TAS isn't canon with the comics, it's its own thing.

As for Joker's real name. Do like the comics, and dont say. He's already the Joker by the end of the first movie (the idea of him using a calling card and calling himself the Joker before the accident is ridiculous). If any background is shown on him, it should be nothing more than a very brief flashback to him falling in the chemicals, nothing more.

I have to go with the triple Chris

Chris...tian Bale as Batman/Bruce Wayne
Chris...topher Nolan as Director

and Chris...topher Eccleston as Jack Napier/Joker.

He is unknown enough for people to go "Who?" When you mention his name. He can pull off the Jack Napier role (see the film Let Him Have It) and can play funny and sadistic (Shallow Grave)

He's the Joker. Cast him.

I am not it has been mentioned (do not have to look back at the threads) is that after watching the Green Mile last night, another actor should be considered. Sam Rockwell! His performace so nutty and insane even his look semi-screamed the Joker.

Watch "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind" and you'll see that Rockwell's got a pretty solid range for the Joker. Sure, he could play the Creeper instead, but I don't expect we'll be seeing the Creeper on film. A running bit part for Jack Ryder could set it up, though.

Back to the topic at hand, since there are only a handful of Rockwell supporters here (he's not even on the poll): Paul Bettany, Jude Law, and Johnny Depp would all make solid Jokers. I think that Jason Lee could probably give us a Hamill-esque Joker, but he could cross into the cartoonish if they're not careful.

And not to rag on people's favorites, but Adrien Brody and Crispin Glover are both poor choices. Brody is a good actor, but in every role he plays, he looks like he's about to burst into tears. He's a human version of Droopy the Dog. And Glover might look good for the part, but I don't think he can do the voice, and I suspect he would be a pain in the ass to work with. Ask Robert Zemeckis. George McFly was dead in Back to the Future II and recast in III because Glover demanded more money. Let Glover do his Charlie's Angels sequels in peace.

Your wrong, he was recast by a guy in make-up (trying to imitate Glovers voice) in the beginning, and they reused footage of him without his permission later in the film, you dont even think you seen his character in 3.

If your going to slag the guy, at least know the films better.

Apologies to Crispin Glover if I've got this wrong. Wikipedia (not the world's most reliable source, I know) confirms the story as I understood it.

Glover declined to return as George McFly because he wanted more money. THEN they recast Jeffrey Weissman as George McFly. George being dead in the alternate present of Biff's Casino conveniently minimized the character's screen time.

Yes, there were still some recycled Glover footage in Part II, which he sued Spielberg over.

And finally, George McFly does appear in Part III, though it's only a brief appearance at the end. It's Jeffrey Weissman as the confidant, successful sci-fi writer that George became as a result of Marty's travels.

So there is the story as I understand it. I haven't watched Back To The Future lately, but I'd say I know the films pretty well (at least well enough to know the ending of Part III, which gives me one up on you).

If you can point me to another account that says Crispin Glover was truly the victim here, please correct me. Otherwise, I stand by my Glover-bashing.

I am also a Rockwell supporter. The more I think about it the more I like the idea.
