Christian Bale just simply gets Batman, incredible that its taken this long to find an actor who does.

Just picturing him and Bale exchanging agressive dialogue makes me want the film to come out tomorrow.

this is why we are not gonna get the purple suit, i fell into chemicals and got a white face, green hair and red lips joker....and i'm all for it. people who want this exact translation of tas or the comic joker are way off.

I think you can still make the purple suit work, or atleast do a black with purple pinstripe suit, or a black suit with purple tie. It is not the purple suit that makes the Joker non-dark, it is the Joker himself. That is the key, not the clothing. Bettany can nail the dark Joker.

yeah you are right.....although i still don't think he will wear one.

he could possibly have the trench coat look like in arkham asylum.

i think we will be seeing a completly new take on the joker, something unique.

something makes me think he's gonna be this lanky scrawny type of guy and wear a tight fitted suit similar to this:

facially i they will go along the lines of interview with the vampire and powder. he will wear smudged red lipstick and have black hair with a green tint/highlights.

i also get the feeling he's gonna smoke, and smoke lots... dunno why.

Personally I'd love to see him in a few different outfits over the course of the next two films. Remember, this is a movie that's trying to be realistic, and in real life, people change their clothes. I'd love to see him in his purple tailcoat at one point, and perhaps in a black Alex Ross tuxedo at another. Let's not forget his wide-brimmed hat also, which could show up at one point.

Although if/when they do go with a purple suit, i would like it to be a darker purple. Something you could actually see a person wearing (i know i've seen Bettany wearing one in press photos before).

i love the guy, but i don't see him being able to loose enough weight to make him look enough like the joker we're used to. he's too short and stocky.

i'm assuming that, due to the interest shown by nolan towards bettany, they're trying to cast someone who looks physically closer to the comic book version of the joker, rather than just a good actor who doesn't. i do like the idea of him playing the penguin, though.

I've made this suggestion before (not here), but Michael Massee could pull this role off very nicely. I got that vibe the second he popped on screen for the first time in a recent mini-series, Revelations. My only thought, for the duration of the show, was Joker.


You may better know him as the man who accidentally killed Brandon Lee whilst filming The Crow.

I'd love to see him in the role.
