Meet Alistair McGowan. He an impressionist here in the UK, and a very good one at that. Although he would never get cast I think he would be brilliant

he's also comedian, I don't think he can pull a dark funny Joker I mean Alistair McGowan is funny he won't able to pull dark side it's a bad choice for Joker.

Alistair McGowan would make a good Sherlock Holmes, but he doesn't really look like Joker.

You changed your name again Oldman = Gordon!?!?!?

Crazy.

Michael Massee was the one who shot Jason Lee on the set of the crow and killed him.
Wasn't his fault though. Some damn stupid crew member loaded the gun.

you see the thing with casting is you don't want to over shadow bale with a big name like jude law or johnny depp, i think low famed but good, actors are the way to go, tim roth is a great way to go, but i still think bowie would be good, impossible but good

Last night I saw Cary Elwes in a TV movie called The Riverman, which is about Ted Bundy helping detectives find a serial killer. Based on real events that happened before Bundy was executed.

Anyway, Elwes played Bundy and was downright creepy. And, you're gonna think I'm crazy, but there were moments when I saw the Joker.

Partly because of the way some of the scenes were lit (bright lights to create a pale complexion while enhancing shadow around his features), but also due to his performance, at times would arch his brows and have a certain look in his eyes...a chilling performance without being over-the-top.

I'm sure nobody else can see Cary Elwes as the Joker, but I swear I saw it last night.

Thank you! I'm glad others also think bringing in A list actors will overshadow Bale.

My only problem with Bowie is that he's around 50.

Some of The Tim Roth pics I posted above scream Joker. :joker:

Also Tim Roth was in a movie were he played a psychotic killer who goes on a killing spree with his girlfriend across the country, great movie. Based on a true story.

It show's Roth's evil side. That and Planet of the Apes and Rob Roy.

yeah bowie looks good for 50, yet he is impossible, roth is an ideal choice

yeah, roth was kick ass is RD, and he was awsome in PF,

I heard that back in '89, they were thinking about Ray Liotta as the Joker...he could still do it!

Glover is my pick, but I wouldn't mind seeing roth play the riddler somewhere down the line.

UPDATED!

Choices of Flass in order:

1. Tim Roth
2. Crispin Glover
3. Michael Massee
4. Johnny Depp
5. Jude Law

If you want my opinion, I think we should look back to the Joker's dark roots in the first issue of Batman for his look. I think that look embodied the purest look of the character. And I should say now, I've never been a real fan of the anorixicly thin, huge narrow chined, curley haired version of the Joker. To me it seemed that he didn't look the part. I prefer the versions like Justice League or "Batman" the orginal movie. And when they do find the actor(my money's on an unknown), they should keep his suit simple and striking. Well, here's my version:

Simple purple, green, and black; that's all I ask(and red lips. I chouldn't get the color on my drawing)

^It would be nice to see a translation of the comic incarnation, with the purple and green, but I don't it'll work that well. I like his colors settling on a darker pallete, going with more black.

I see and acknowledge that you have a point by saying "more dark", but I think I have a point when I say "everyone else in Gotham is dark". Yes, it's true, everyone has really towned down colors in gotham, but I think the Joker should stand out as an abnomaly with his purple and green suit. And sure, The Jokers purple suit could be replaced with black, but why? He is, after all, a clown. A killer clown, but a clown none-the-less. Also he's meglomaniac and he craves the spotlight, so why not stand out. No deary blacks with this clown, only happiness....induced by Joker venom.

idk... I just really liked this fan pick thats someone did awhile back and I would love to see this Joker on film. And it is more dark, but I guess you could slap on a purple suit too...

Lachy Hume sounds interesting...and I think thats who Nolan wants from what I have heard....which is very little. Tim Curry could do it, he has the smile. The character from RHPS is somewhat like versions of the Joker. Mark Hammill is a good consideration, they would have to use a lot of make-up though. Crispin Glover is good but I would pick Tim Roth over him
