Bettany is a top-notch actor... he's EXCELLENT in everything he's in, even if the movie itself is mediocre. If you think he's a dull actor then you seriously need to go watch Master and Commander RIGHT NOW.

Glover is also a good actor who could seriously look the part. He's been a favorite of mine for a while now.

Hulme I've only seen in the Matrix video game and a little bit in the Matrix movies, but I have to say he does look the part. Whether he can act it or not, I'm not sure, but he wasn't bad in what I've seen him in.

He's a good actor, but he's a bit of an ass hole, so I'll say no (not to mention it would rip my dad right out of seeing the sequel, he HATES Penn with a bloody passion).

My choice would either be Mark Hammil or Sam Rockwell.

Bettany is playing some creepy Albino character in the Da Vinci code, I think. That'll probably get him a lot more Joker-cred, and hopefully the role isn't too similar. Bettany has a great look for the character, no doubt.

Really never liked Hulme as a choice.

Bettany, damn it. Him as Joker would make up for him not being John Constantine.

There not meant to be big names..

But that's probably going to change for Paul Bettany after The Da Vinci codes gets released.

If they went with well more famous names people would just think like the previous 4 films, and Warner Bros and co dont want that.

Beside's it doesn't matter which of these 3 become Joker while i have my favourite and he is one of those names which i'll get to later, People will always have Jack's performance as a Bar no actor will reach.

Which is were my personal choice is best suited to play the role.

Lachey Hulme........ Why???
Cause he is an unknown, and wont be all about the actor playing Joker instead it's the Joker in the sequel to Chris Nolan's franchise.
Lachey Hulme has impressed Warner Bros and Chris Nolan so much that it's a fact he was dressed up as Joker and they were all impressed.
Now the 2 people to do that was Christian Bale while yes Fan Choice and directors choice.. Christian Bale had to screen test and impressed Warner Suits and he did.
And second Cillian Murphy impressed so much he become the Scarecrow and what a great performance he gave as well, And the actor names that were rumored to play Scarecrow were a joke.

People you need to understand it's not about getting a famous actor to play Joker,, just look at what Hugh Jackman did with Wolverine he nailed it, cause Bryan Singer saw something special in a screen test.

Now so far LACHEY HULME has sort of done the same with Chris Nolan and crew and i'm pretty sure he has a great sense in chosing an actor for the Joker.

I'm hoping for Lachey Hulme to be the new Joker i know a friend in Show Biz in Australia and they know of Lachey and when i said of his name being rumored to play Joker, They thought he would be a great Joker apparently they've seen some of his Stage work and he is awesome.

I also heard before i think Jett from Batman On Film saying that they want the next Joker to be as tall as Batman and a threat to him.

My pick Lachey Hulme...
But i have a small feeling that when Da Vinici Code hits and makes a ton of money which it will Warner might want Paul Bettany.

All up to the director.

Actually the real tought casting choice to me isn't Joker it's Harvey Dent still no name hit's a home run

I never thought of Bettany before. He doesn't seem like a bad choice actually. I personally don't want a huge name actor for the role. I would prefer someone who is semi known to play off Bale.

Oh and one more thing, if we are always going to be comparing and saying "there's no way they can top Nicholson", then what is the point of Joker being in the sequel?

Jack did a fantastic performance, I will be the first to admit it. But let's just give whoever the new guy will be, a break huh.

I'd have to go with luhjo on this one. He looks thin enough and could display a serious tone. How tall is he? I want a tall Joker like in the comics. At least a few inches on Bale. I saw a really weird picture of Hulme recently on the net. And he also looks like he could deliver. I'll try to post if I find it.

Chris Eccleston or Vincent Cassell. it's really not a hard decision. i can't believe that Crispin Glover is still in the running. are all of Batman's foes going to be pencil-necked geeks? it worked for Scarecrow because his role was that of 1st-tier henchman. but use your imagination. try to imagine Crispin at his scariest. he's still a joke. and he already played a bad guy in Willard and that gawdawful Charlie's Angels movie. don't go with the typecast. try to be original. find an actor; not someone who is a real-life Joker! get it?

I'm personally afraid that all this Nicholson comparison talk is going to hurt the sequel when it comes out particularly with reviews by critics, but hopefully that wont become a factor. I don't need a joker that is as over the top as Jack Nicholson (who was damn good IMO) but i want this next Joker to be the scariest, creepiest most sadistic MoFo that ever walked the earth. I mean that's how he should be, he's a friggin maniac!! He's got to be atleast as creepy as IT from the Stephen King novel

Crispin Glover FTW!! Creepy, thin, hell he's half way there with "Willard" and he can hold his own in fight scenes in Charlie's Angels. Unlike Bethany, or the other guy, look at all the money they'll save on prostetic makeup. This guy is to Joker what CR was to Superman.
