Joker is a crazy, a psychopath in the likes of John Doe (Se7en) and Hannibal Lecter, and should be seen as that (the majority of Batman´s villains are like that).
No camp......no laughing gas.
Makes him a killer that cuts smiles in his victim´s faces, leaving them terrible disfigurated.
The Joker should not be a kind of "clown" that gets the audience laughing, but rather, everytime the Joker laughs, the audience gets a shiver down their spine.

i agree....the next Joker needs to be more disturbing while a bit funny at the same time....remember the film will never be a R film...unfortunately. but Nolan and team are smart....and they no that a more sinister and evil Joker that looks it and acts it, is needed....in the next interpretation of him...

Bruce Spence is 60 years old right now, Jude Law should NEVER be Joker. Hate to inform you on this but Joker doesn't have an annoying British accent. And Buscemi isn't Zsasz its that Tim Booth guy who is playing him already in Begins.

yeah i know that....but supposedly.....ZsasZ will be on the loose in the beginning of the sequel where Bats has to catch him. i would rather a see a known actor step in at that point is possible for a cameo as ZsasZ. Can you imagine a bald goateed Buscemi doing that cameo as him? that would be cool......just dreaming here.... :batman:

At first, i thought it was just a stupid idea, but as i think about it more, it sticks, i am refering to the idea of MARK HAMILL as the joker, he hasnt been in anything noteworthy for a while, but he does the BEST voices, one including The Joker himself in TAS. Everytime i read a comic, and jokers in it, its always Hamill's voice that pops in my head when i read his diologue. It would be a major comeback role

Carmine, who would you like to see playing the Joker?

well there are alot of good choiches such like Crispin Glover or Lachey Hulme. But it could be that Nolan casts a ''unknown'' like the guy at the top of this page.

I saw the aviator yesterday and Leonardo Dicaprio was great in it. I know some people would highly disagree butJust Imagine him just make his teeth nasty and all the other features like joker's.He could definately play the role

Heres something to help paint the picture

i think DiCaprio would be ideal as Anarky....if they ever show him on film...as a semi-villian/ally of Batmans kinda like Catwoman. Anarky is freakin cool....always liked his character. A perfect semi-baddie more for Robin or Nightwing.

Tim Booth is Zsasz. I trust Nolan with casting I am not dissappointed at all so I an really looking forward to who he casts for the other villains.

so am I. Hulme or Roth may get Joker. For Dent, i have to believe that Nolan will go hard after Guy Pearce....most fans want him as Dent, and it seems Nolan and company listen to the fans. If Pearce was cast.....most of us would be pumped and very happy i would think..

He seems like a good choice but directors can always surprise you with an unknown actor who is brilliant.

Lachey Hulme would be good as Joker or Steve Buscemi maybe?

I know he is a good actor. But not crazy enough for a good Joker performance. Plus he is too old.

Its an interesting drawing but no. He is the clown prince...not the ******ed son of Jim Varney and Angelina Jolie.

Hah, very funny. the drawing is good, but way over the top and doesnt look like the Joker. His lips are ridiculous, but I like the scars going over his eyes to resemble a clowns painted eyes.

Also, the artist based it off Lachey Hulme.

My pick for Joker is Lachy Hulme. But I hope Joker doesn't look like that on film. Maybe that picture would look a lot better for me if he lost the lazy eye and toned the lips down a lot.

What about Benicio Del Toro, I think he would be great as the Joker.

I would like no origin shown, maybe only ghostly flashbacks (like wolverine in x-men 1 and sorta like in 2). As for looks I would like to see Nolan and Co. talk to some plastic surgeons and specialists in the field to find out what, if anything, could actually cause something that looked like a permanent smile and go with how that would actually look, along with the white skin and green hair.
As for his actions, I would love to see him portrayed as he was in Arkham Asylum and The Killing Joke: just really ****ed up and borderline demonic.
For actors, I would like Depp, Law or Vincent Gallo.

Also, to be classified as Batman's arch nemesis, he has to do something HORRIBLE to Batman (whether purposeful or inadvertently). Batman 89 had the parents angle and the comics have years of murder and hell.
I would like to see Rachel make it to the sequel, and have the sequel be about Harvey Dent/the mob/eventually Two-Face, with random news clippings about a deranged clown-like killer in the subplot. By the end, have Rachel killed randomly by the Joker, thus giving Batman a reason for hate.
It would also segue nicely into the third film, Batman's friend gone (dent into two-face) and his love murdered. Sort of end tragically like Godfather II (where Michael is left by Kay and has killed his brother).

I dont know, rammblings...
