The Dark Knight Joker Intro Description...no Bs

REALLY!?!?! i mean, his art, awesome. but he wrote that terrible, awful, awful line of dialogue?

Anyway while Batman has some stupid lines The Joker have some memorable ones like this one.

What's the matter, Batman? No witty comeback? No threat? Then I'll provide the narration... [the screen flickers to life, showing "Our Home Movies"] I'll begin with how I peeled back the layers of the boy's mind. Oh, he bravely tried to fight it at first. You would've been proud to see him so strong - but all too soon, the shocks and the serums took their toll, and the boy began to share such secrets with me. Secrets that are mine alone to know... Bruce. It's true, Batsy! I know everything. And kinda like the kid who peeks at his Christmas presents, I must admit, it's sadly anti-climactic. Behind all the sturm and bat-o-rangs, you're just a little boy in a playsuit, crying for mommy and daddy! It'd be funny if it weren't so pathetic. [pause] Oh, what the heck, I'll laugh anyway. HA HA HA HA HA HAA!
If You Don't like The Movies I got Slides.

Priceless... I think Hamill is the best Joker so far...... Untill Ledger.

yeah. that's a good one. was that return of the joker?

hamill is great. i love all the jokers. (and by all i mean hamill, romero and nicholson) and yes, ledger will likely be the greatest of them all. it certainly appears that way.

aw, c'mon. miller has some cool lines. not always great, but they aren't "******ed. god damn batman...etc"

edit: wait. he ACTUALLY WROTE THAT?!!?!?!? what the hell frank...

He kind of tried to re-invent Batman as some sadistic a-hole noir film character....He basically wrote it as Sin city. lol

That intro is so f**king awesome, I think I'm gonna --

Oh no! Stomach... unclenching... bowels... releasing... must... fight... urge... to... crap... my... self!

yeah, that's a cool marv line. not batman though. i mean, i like his DKR dialogue. that's cool stuff. but that line right there...that's just garbage. "******ed" and "i'm the god damn batman" should not come out of bruce's mouth. that's awful.

yeah =\ so all those purists who want a perma-white joker can go read the garbo comics that are comin out nowadays and ill take nolan's movies thank you very much. =D

but there was that one page from a christmas comic with batman and superman that was hilarious. i mean, it shouldnt be something that is in actual continuity, but if you wanna do some dumb jokey comics, that's cool too.

FUNNY ? ? ? WHAT ARE U TALKING ABOUT?

OF COURSE THIS WILL HAPPEN IN THE REAL BATMAN AND SUPERMAN WORLD ! ! !

/End Of Sarcasm]

I put this in another thread but it's more appropriate here as it didn't have to do with the topic of the other one.
I really hate to say it because I set my expectations of this movie so high but that dialogue does not sound very good. I'm hoping it will work though once I see it with the characters and the situation. Luchastyle is right that some of the Batman Begins dialogue does not sound very good either on paper but works in context.

AGREE ! ! !

Maybe you should actually read them. All star is shaping out to be brilliant. It's about time someone made Batman cool, and not the loner loser outcast sitting and brooding in his basement, getting beatings left and right. Frank wrote a chilling Joker in the last issue, with the amazing comic contrast of nazi-****. Superman/Batman is being written pretty decently, that last issue with Dr. Light was great. Paul Dini and Grant Morrison know Batman and should start pumping out some great stories following Ra's' return (which is actually pretty good). Justice League? Dwayne McDuffie? Hell yeah! Even Batman Confidential is pumping out a half decent story (Batman's mentality ventures from excellently written, to downright ******ed at times, but it's "justified" I suppose)

It's a really good time for Batbooks.

edit: I hope you guys realize that Batman/Superman/Santa story was part of a collection of christmas stories DC released for fun, like they did for Halloween. It even says Elseworlds...

The art is by Jim Lee, the writter would be Frank Miller my friend, that part is from Batman All Star.

A bit controversial....

Why do u say that?
I don't see anything wrong with the dialogues.

that page is so f-ckin funny. "yeah, well my parents taught me a different lesson. lying in the alley...twitching...sorry, look..."

that is hilarious. who wrote that one? cuz that's classic comedy =D (not sarcasm. that really made me laugh the first time i read it.)

yeah. lee is a great artist. miller usually has cool dialogue, but those lines....i don't care for. no, sir. i don't like it.

Nothing specific I suppose, it just doesn't seem to fit when reading it (I didn't notice it in this one but in the other thread there was a "schools out" line that stood out as corny to me). Hopefully, it works when you hear the joker/mobsters talking. That might be the issue, im reading it and hearing it in my head in my own voice.

lol the comics are good and The Batman Cartoon Is okay for kids

don't hate on the comics and tv shows

without them we wouldn't have any batman movies

i know that. i'm just saying, there's room for everything. including movies where joker puts on make-up

Miller has actually been known for this kind of things, pushing the characters mentality or psych to different extent, he has no boundiries on his writting. There's actually far worse stuff in this series from Miller..like Wonder Woman calling a man "sperm bank".

=( what the hell miller? some characters just don't talk that way.
