Colorful explosions isn't too hard to pull off and it seems pretty realistic to me. Its a low-key, believable power. More interesting than yet more generic lightning.

I guess they just messed up.
Nah...I don't think that's the case...

The fireworks are still the result of some form of energy (what we saw in the deleted scene did not look like lightning). What could've been shown was the initial energy that flows from her body that triggers the fireworks (which results in light, heat, and sound).

Remember, Jubilee's powers are physical/psionic, not environmental. The energy has to come from her and they probably wouldn't start off looking like "fireworks".

Like I said, it seems like they were REALLY trying hard to show off some of the physics and realism of her powers and not just go the ol' generic route of having just, fireworks pop out of nowhere from her hands (i.e., Arclight generating energy for the shockwave in the trailer). Oh, and I think that she CAN absorb energy as well...

I believe this is what they intended for X2. On the DVD commentary it is mentioned that during the mansion raid they were going to have a soldier hit her with a taser, and she would absorb it and hit him back with the energy.

Jubilee's "eletrical fireworks" are more colourful than Arclight's.

That Arclight expression is funny. :p

Lmao! Perfect.

I get the feeling that Jubilee and the other X-Kids will have something to do, be it a plot scene or some integral story scene. Penn and Kinberg are being too cagey for them to have no significance at all.

Perhaps all the X-Kids are forced to leave the school at some point.

Is there time? This movie is packed. Its the one thing that gives me concern about it.

Is there time?...The movie packed?..

Alot of the stuff that we know about from the movie are only handful of portions from within the acts themselves...That means that there is a whole lot more that we still don't know about...We can't always assume that everything that we know is being stretched to fill up the time when there are so many other interconnected scenes that haven't been totally fit (most particularly, Wolverine's, Angel's, and Magneto's scenes)...

People said the movie would be packed before they saw the teaser.
People said the movie would be packed before they saw the trailer.

What we know can justify what we don't know..

We don't know **** :p

Well from Simon's Q&A I gathered the following: we got at least 4 main characters (Logan, Magneto, Storm, Phoenix)... a bunch of big supporting characters (Beast, Juggernaut, Rogue, Iceman, Kitty)... a bunch of medium supporting characters (Pyro, Angel, Callisto, Dr. Rao, Colossus, Mystique)... a bunch of low-level characters (Arclight, Quills, Multiple Man, Jubilee)... and then we got Xavier in at least a big role and Cyke in at least a medium role, and Trask and Worthington in some small to medium roles...

It is rather overwhelming... especially given we have 2 main plots, and we know (from what Simon said and the material released) Iceman gets a story arc, Kitty gets one, Rogue gets one, Pyro gets one, Angel gets one, Beast gets one, Phoenix gets one, Callisto gets one, Mystique gets one, Storm gets one, Logan definitely gets one, so do Xavier, Cyke and Magneto... I dont know, its just a concern of mine.

Well, X2 wasn't a whole lot different.

Main characters (Logan, Magneto, Stryker, Xavier)
Big Supporting characters (Storm, Jean, Nightcrawler)
Medium Supporting characters (Cyclops, Deathstrike, Rogue, Iceman, Pyro, Mystique, Jason)
Low-Level Characters (The Drake family + Cat, Laurio, Sen. Kelly, President, Colossus, Lyman)

2 main plots: Logan's Past - Dark Cerebro
Arcs: Nightcrawler/Storm, Iceman/Rogue, Magneto, Pyro/Magneto, Wolverine, Jean, Stryker.

X3 is a jump, sure, but we all know this. Multiple characters are themselves integral to the storyline. Gathered from Simon's Q&A, ;) , more characters are plot-movers in X3 and do not require much internal development. As a third film, some things established in X2 will not be dealt with, so I don't have a big concern. If you do, that's still fine. I'm not worried.

Actually after comparing it to the previous film I think you have a point. Although I don't think Xavier counts as a main character in X2.

Also keep in mind Storms getting a bigger role, as is Jean, and Colossus... so that might factor in. And the movies shorter. Regardless, here's hoping.

I don't think that Storm is getting a bigger role...She's just getting a more substantial role, not necessarily bigger in terms of screentime.

BTW, where did they announce the official running time for X3?.. :p :D ;)

Based on talk, the movie could be anywhere between 104 and 133 minutes.

they didn't, but screenwriters confirmed its gonna be shorter than X2.

As you can tell, I've been obsessively reading that thread for the past hour. :D

Yeah, so technically, the movie could be 2 hours, 10 minutes...

Do you think that X2 could've been shorter?

not really, actually I kept thinking of scenes I'd like to expand a little bit... especially Cyclops's fight with Lady Deathstrike.

i dunno i'm thinking it might be as long or longer now didn't brett say that he was expecting alot of scenes to get cut out and was surprised to see that nothing got cut out (except 30 Seconds) and that they were filming EXTRA scenes?

I agree with expanding that scene, considering that during shooting they decided to put a fight in there at the last second. (According to Guy Dyas on the X2 DVD)

Originally, Cyclops was just supposed to turn around and get knocked out, but he wanted to show that Cyke could fight with more than just his optic blast. We all know how THAT turned out...

I saw this one chick, and she could have been a "younger" Jubilee.

her name is Brenda Song

"Perfect"?

I dunno...Between her, Kea Wong, and Katrina Florence...You'd have to take your pick from out of an issue.. :p

^Well, I mean if they hadn't cast Kea Wong, I think Brenda Song would've fit nicely. However, since they had Kea in X2, she'd look too different.

Though Kea doesn't really look like Katrina Florence... boo to recasting.

very cool manip of Jubilee/Kea Wong.

I think Kea is great as Jubilee, she looks just like she did back in the later years of Generation X... tan skinned, longer hair, and more full facial features.
