If Urban is not apart of this then I have no interest. I am like the other poster. I did not sign all these petitions just to not have at least him come back.

t: I don't know why, but it has some specific something to it that makes me see it repeatedly. What about Stalone..?

I think it'd actually be awesome to have him guest star sometimes as a police captain or commissioner or something like that.

Honestly, if the writers/ producers/ creative people from the first film, I'm excited. If it's new people, just skeptical.
Why? Rebellion/2000AD are directly involved. I would recommend that folks that only know Dredd through that film actually dig into his universe a bit because it's really ****ing out there and the massive tonal shift in the material may put you off if they intend to mix all of that in with this show.
Why? I liked what I got in that last movie, wanted more. If it's new product, I don't know what I'm getting. Kind of obvious that anyone could be skeptical.
Familiar enough with the character to not be all "rah-rah" at 2000AD involvement. They were involved in that awful 90's take with no helmet "Dredd"/Demolition Man and Deuce Bigelow. Plenty of reasons to be skeptical of whatever is sight unseen. I remember Mean Machine just being a 5 minute set piece.
Yeah. I'm not a fan of the Dredd film but even if I was, I doubt I would be all "Urban or bust" over this. I feel like there are plenty of actors who could play the role well. Also, and I know this is a controversial view but I don't care, I would have no problem with Dredd removing his helmet. I mean, I know he never does in the comic. But I feel like it's easier to suspend disbelief when reading a comic than watching a TV show. It's just weird to think of a guy ordering a pizza or taking a dump with his helmet on.
He takes his helmet off in the comics just as he had his helmet off in the 2012 film (you see him putting it on at the beginning) you just don't see his face. As he is meant to be the faceless representative of the law.
This is not factually correct. Sure, they gave them the material to work with, but that's about it. They had no direct creative control over it or input beyond creating the source material and despite popular belief, there are elements of the property, the 1995 film ****ing nailed.
Don't get me wrong, I would love for Karl Urban and Alex Garland to be involved, but I'm not going to be immediately skeptical if they're not. The property is bigger than that.
