Does Judge Dredd even have a following anymore? Even if this reboot is good, my fear is that most people who aren't familiar with the comic will just figure that this is a sequel or remake of the crappy Stallone film.
Rebellion and 2000 AD are proud to announce that Judge Dredd is coming to a cinema near you soon!
Together with DNA Films, the movie production company behind such great sci-fi movies such as Sunshine and 28 Weeks Later, Judge Dredd will go into production in 2009.
Jason Kingsley, CEO and Creative Director said, We cant give away too many details at this point, but were looking forward to working with DNA Films to bring Judge Dredd back to the big screen.
Okay.
But Judge Dredd is Judge Dredd. You can't humanize him. THis can be nothing more than an action celebration.
28 Weeks Later was a great zombie flick but i don't think it was all that. Sunshine, on the other hand, i would consider a masterpiece and severely underrated."Sunshine and 28 Weeks Later"
Great Sci-Fi films???
Please no comedy.
What so it should just be a soulless action fest? Thats some great logic.
Yeah, that was the only downer for me in that movie. I remember hoping that he would get killed off somewhere before it ended.i just hope they don't have a rob schneider type of sidekick this time .

Great find Aeghast.
I think Ron Pearlman would be PERFECT for the role, it doesn't matter that he is getting on a bit, Dredd isn't exactly a youthful and handsome chap is he? And that picture of him in that 2000ad forum cements that opinion.
And as I said before, the only way to go is to make it the way they made Sin City and 300. Ultra violent rated-r/18, there should be no compromises when it comes to a comic adaption like this.
