Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle

Looks terrible to me, but then the only Dwayne Johnson film I like is Southland Tales. Faster is okay too, I guess.

I actually liked the original as a child, and it's held up fairly well. This movie just seems like a terrible concept doomed to failure, but then it is Sony. Looks right in line with what they did to Ghostbusters.

The original is alright but I just can't get into it. I never really understood why my friends liked it so much, even in '95 as a kid.

Because it had a prime Robin Williams. That's pretty much it.

I thought it was for the same reason people got into Night at the Museum.

Rock seems to have regressed to his "Tooth Fairy/Escape from Witch Mountain" stage of his career.

Well Jumanji, was always a family film.
This was never going to be Fast And The Furious in The Jungle.

Oh vey, didn't cross my mind before...not one bit, but this is Fast & the Furious :wow: in The Jungle

Nope.
More like a Jumanji remake or reimagining whatever they are calling it now.

Same here. When we'd watch movies in school I always hated when Jumanji would be what was on. Bored me to tears.

Sony is really crossing the streams for appeal here.

Heck, they've given The Rock more ammo to be a human tank among other abilities.

Aren't you supposed to avoid crossing the streams?

This. He really carries the movie, although Van Pelt is a pretty good villain and David Alan Grier is pretty funny even in his limited screentime.

I LOVE Jumanji.

A really important element of that movie was that it was actually pretty scaring. There's a pretty intense sense of foreboding relating to that game.

That trailer didn't even feel like Jumanji.

It's funny but the sense of dread Alan implied isn't there.

This looks like so much fun. F**k YEAH. :db: :db:

Loved Central Intelligence from last year and Rock & Hart are making all the right moves again. Can't wait for this. :D :D

I wonder if they Introduce the Guy who Turned the Board Game into a Videogame ? or is the Originial Jumanji Board Game the Exit for the Jumanji Videogame ?

I admit it looks fun, but there's just something missing from the original Jumanji game. Like, you knew you had to go from A to B to C to win the game, there was some kind of progress during that film that made it very very interesting. I don't feel anything like that in here, just a bunch of players doing a bunch of stuff.
Also, is that the same jungle in which Robin Williams' character was stuck on? And are those rhinos the same ones from the original game? If that's the case, there's something potentially interesting.

This is looking better and better. Definitely trying to see this in the theater.

Meh... It looks like a big budget Disney Channel remake of the original.

I feel like they could've gone with something similar to the cartoon where it was downright scary at times, but they wanted a vehicle for these four actors where it's more fun.
