Jurassic Park IV

They were going to have genetically enhanced Commandosaurs who fight bio terrorism. In Dino Riders, it's just regular dinosaurs wearing high tech armor and weapons and being ridden by warriors.

"jurassic park - gen one"

heres an idea. there was a toy line called "chaos effect" from jp line.
imagine a prequel to jp a year or two before.
they are trying to get the coding sequences right for the dna
along comes the first batch. but there cross breads. monsters. some get loose on a different island and begin to wreak it. they send in a team to see what is going on there. they are trapped on the island. they all get killed as they take out this freak trex. end with a cover up and the board approving the other island. (hints the reason to move the park from mainland to the island.) operations then move to site b.

not a bad idea but i dont' quite know how i would feel about it being a prequel. definetly would work if they used that as the idea for a sequel to 3 with a new company trying to do what was done in the first film, but it isn't perfected. that way they could use the embryos lost in the first pic by nedry. the first ended up being a big freak accident so i'm sure the idea of a new company actually trying to make it work this time is totally feasable. bet idea i've heard that i would be excited for, fenox. kinda reminds me of the t-rex from dino crisis, lol.

This is probably one of the best ideas I've heard. I could see it as a sequel, or a prequel.

I say we get back to the essentials. Jurrasic PARK. New company, new characters. Years after the original debacle, a team finally recovers enough samples to create their own dinosaurs. A new company, by lining the right pockets manages to get approval for a zoo. They create a massive INDOOR park, right on the outskirts of Las Vegas (where else would a tourist attraction like real dinosaurs be?) Of course this is not without controversy. There are people who protest the dangerous nature of the park (could be a good opportunity for cameoes to connect the films. Show Alan Grant and/or Ian Malcolm on Larry King speaking out against the new park). There are PETA-extremists protesting the treatment of the dinosaurs (made simply to be shown off), etc. The park, none the less, is a massive success. Of course, that is until one of the protestors sabotage the park's security. The dinosaurs escape from their pens. Of course, being as this happened before, and the park is in the mainland, people are prepared. The Nevada national guard quarantines the park. No one in or out. The movie can focus on a group of survivors trying to avoid the massacre until the dinosaurs die of starvation and they can finally escape, all while on the outside, the world's largest tourist city is at risk of dinosaurs getting free.

For some reason, I am reminded of the '98 version of Godzilla.

In my mind, it would be more like Dawn of the Dead. The scope of this movie would be large, months. This group of survivors can only get out once the dinosaurs have exhausted all of their resources and died and so the survivors have to set up their own civilization to outlast them.

Hm, now thats an interesting idea.

Personally, I always wanted a sequel to go back to the original island. I want to know what happened there after the first movie. Yes, I know Hammond said that the hurricane wiped out the island, but I find it hard to believe that nothing survived.

I think we can all agree that the basis of the story needs to revolve around salvaging samples and trying to recreate the park again. It's more a matter of how exactly that happens. I guess I'm having a hard time seeing Jurassic Park being an exclusively indoor park. That dome would have to be 'Truman Show' size to even come close to the scale it needs to be.

Lost World took place on 'Site B', right? Where did the third take place? Wasn't that also on 'Site B'?

Which is what makes Vegas a perfect setting. Where else could something so grand be than the vast desert of Las Vegas? Where else could you get approval for such a thing?

Plus, imagine the epic nature of the movie. Man vs nature. Its practically a bio-dome and there they are, a civilization of humans, trapped, trying to outlive dinosaurs. The themes of extinction and natural selection could be brilliantly executed.

Plus with the closed-in nature of the dome, this could actually be kind of scary on a claustrophobic level. Think of Quarantine...the way the military sealed off the building so quickly. That was one of the scariest elements to me. That could be this movie.

You do have a really good point. I just want a sequel that is so great it rivals the original movie!

Frankly, my biggest desire from a JP movie is an actual story. I know thats not what people pay $10 to see, but I'm getting tired of people running from dinosaurs for two hours. One hour 45 is fine.

There was a plot about someone coming to Isla Nublar to retrieve the can of embryos that Dennis Nedry had in the first movie. They could survive up to 36? hours I believe. They could just show a flashback of that scene, then back to 20 years later where the 4th would take place. I love Matt's idea about Vegas.

it sounds alright... def an action packed and visually fun idea, but... there are a few problems

1) people like the jurassic park movies for more then just the dinos... alot of us were actually wanting some of the cast from previous films back, in more then just a glorified cameo role

2) after 3 disasters, one very public and main land, there is no way in hell the US government, let alone anyone else, would be dumb enough to put the park in such a huge tourist destination.

3) with all the people in the vegas area.... and how big dinosaurs are... many able to store food in there stomachs for quite a while... it could possibly take several several months to several years for them to starve to death, especially when they'd eat other dinosaurs (on top of humans) and probably there own kind as well.

I like it! Really, I can't really think of anywhere else to take this franchise that doesn't involve the militarization of dinosaurs, or the military versus dinosaurs. A long-term survival story, kind of like what was hinted at in JP3, would be a pretty cool route to go.

I really want to see military involvement. But not super-smart dinosaurs. I mean...beast-riding, sure. I can go with that. But that's the extent. I'd just like to see big, dumb animals used as controlled weapons. :)

I understand, but lets face it...our two realistic choices are Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum. It would be hard to bring either character back in my opinion. Neither are young men any more, plus...why the hell would these characters keep going back?

2) after 3 disasters, one very public and main land, there is no way in hell the US government, let alone anyone else, would be dumb enough to put the park in such a huge tourist destination.

We're talking about politicians. Money in the right pockets combined with sheer arrogance can make anything happen.

It could end with after a few months, the Dinosaurs start to die of a virus that is spread when they bite one another. Prions, I believe it was called in Crichton's novel The Lost World. I mean, wasn't that the original idea of the sequel the Jurassic Park? That dinosaurs were destined for extinction and as Ian Malcolm said, "Life finds a way." It could actually fit with the theme of natural selection very well.

I think both jeff and sam would return if Spielberg took a big part in it, especially if he was directing. Laura Dern was connected to the 4th installment, already saying she would return. I think the hardest two to return would be Vince Vaughn and Julian Moore.

Richard Attenborough, and Alessandro Nivola would both easily return as well i think.

People also would love it if the kids returned (the ones from the first), but they could easily be recasted as well..

I would like to see the core characters return. I am opposed to recasting the children simply because they would somehow try to get Shia Lebeouf to play the little boy.
