Likewise my friend. :D  JP is in a league of it's own but I have a good feeling that JW will be the definitive sequel.

See I have such a sentiment to the lost world. I liked this better, but The Lost World is just THE "Jurassic Park" sequel in my mind. Direct, right after the events of JP1 and with a returning character from Jurassic Park as the main character. It was just a blast of Dinos, ending with a T Rex in Sandiago.

It will always be my definitive sequel, even over sequels I enjoy more.

Also, Schlosser85 described the cgi best. Even though the CGI was better technically, the dinosaurs didn't seem to have the weight the did in the first two films. You could just tell that the dinosaur was just heavy.

I don't know, I've said before the first two Jurassic Park films had their own unique type of CGI, ESPECIALLY with the T Rex and the Raptors.

Very happy to see the positive reception. Can't wait to see this tomorrow.

What are the projections for the box office?

I assume this is going to make bank.

Just got back from seeing it. My god, what a turd that was. The action was generic, I could have cared less about these characters and imo the CGI was just sub par at best. I went in not with much expectation, however I did go in expecting an ending that would give me goosebumps due to what I assume most of you know about. If not im going to put it in spoilers below for those that have not seen it

The T rex vs indominus rex was the biggest non event of the film. Was this really supposed to be THE t rex from the original?. When she first is released and you see her first confront the indominus I got chills down my spine, I even teared up a bit. Not only was Rexy gonna be back on top but she was the original Rex. Instead what I got was Rexy getting her ass kicked and admitting defeat, until a f*****g little raptor saved its ass and even then, the giant crocodile thing got the final kill. WHAT THE ABSOLUTE F***!!??

anyway this the worst JP movie in the series imo. The indominus rex was not even half as tough as the spino from JP3 and frankly I wish I'd saved my money.

5/10

The crazy thing is that this is ILM did the visual effects. Is it due to the blue filter and daytime shots?

Wow just saw it, that was pretty epic ending. A lot better than I expected, and I was pretty hyped for it too, lost my ***** a couple of times from the epicness

I loved how the ending mirrored the first movie, with the guy and girla nd 2 kids, surrounded by raptors, and the T-Rex saves the day, except this time Own becomes pack alpha again. When taht happened, I was like, "o ***** is going down now". Then Carol releases the Rex and I was like "o ***** is REALLY going down now". Then Blue comes back to save the day and you got Rex and Blue double teaming the Indominus, with a freaking RAPTOR RIDING A T-REX at one point, and I just lost it :woo:. Then surprise save from Mosa and you got a BRO NOD between Rex and Blue at the fight's end. This sounds totally ridiculous, but it worked, at least for me. I mean, if I told you a year ago this movie will end with a raptor riding a god dang Rex double teaming a badder dino, I'd think myself crazy. That was some good old fashion fun.

Just came back, absolutely loved it! Some of the CGI, quick edits, and some line deliveries are minor complaints but overall it felt true to what original stands for and attempted to elicit the same awe-inspiring reactions that the first one did which it worked on me.

I want to see this again.

Also, kids were fine. Kids in movies are always seen as annoying cause they're kids and they're naturally unlikable in real life. I don't expect them to be multi-layered characters because children are not usually like that especially in a movie where they're not the main characters.

It was AWESOME!!!!

Brings back memories and the T-REX ................

can't give it away!

You do realize that [blackout]she's over twenty years old and going against a dinosaur younger and more vicious[/blackout]

you also realise that this series of movies don't rely on logic or realism. These movies are escapism and popcorn entertainment. why drag logic into it now.

As a fan of the first movie, if your gonna reverse what JP3 did and actually have Rexy win this time do it properly or don't do it at all. Like i said it's about honoring the original Rex. They could have had the fight go longer, maybe have the Dinos end the fight where the original rex saved dr grant and co in the first movie and the mighty roar of superiority like in the first film. Coming full circle. That's epic.

I really enjoyed this film. I feel like JP had epic elements of a horror film that people really don't appreciate and that's what JW shared with it. The intro of the I-Rex to the kids in the gyrosphere was behind terrifying and awesome. The I-Rex as a whole was just an epic creation! The way it handled itself around the other dino's was awesome, it seemed to be plotting different ways to kill the people in the park, oh and if you were a veggie-saur? You were pointless life to I-Rex, let's get rid of you. Definitely more epic than the Spino in JP3.

Overall i really enjoyed and dare i say loved most of the film, i give it a 8/10 just behind the original JP, if not tied in some areas. Really curious what ideas they could come up with for sequels to this, there's some good things to pull from this film. Wu, you're a gigantic d-bag.

Oh and that little kid, the main one, had THE worst scary face i've ever seen!

I highly recommend this movie, to those saying it isn't a JP movie but a monster movie are incredibly mistaken, they've misunderstood the movie. It was such a entertaining blockbuster.

Here's to more Jurassic movies please!

Can i also add i love how the original Rex walked away after the fight at the end like " I'm too old for this s**t" It was epic!

The first one was pretty logical. Can't say the same for the others.

On a different note, did anybody else get the feels when [BLACKOUT]the Amblin Entertainment logo appeared before the movie?[/BLACKOUT]

Just got back from seeing it and I actually loved it. Had a fantastic 3rd act with a great battle. My audience actually clapped at one point, and then again when it ended. Thats pretty rare around here.
This was definitely the best JP sequel. I'd give it an 8.5/10 :)

I will agree, however, that the CG sometimes lacked weight or something that I can't quite put my finger on.

just got back from watching Jurassic World and i was pleasantly surprised how good it was! definitely brought back memories from when i watched the first film back in the day and i loved all the little nods/callbacks to the original.

i thought both kids were gonna be a hindrance and be pretty annoying but i actually found myself relating to them. all the characters in the film were well drawn out.

it was nice seeing Rexy from the first film pop up again and loved how the film closed with her reigning over the island as if it is her kingdom.

anyone else almost get teary eyed when Owen & Claire come across the dead Brontosauruses?

my only real complaint is that i thought the final act seemed kind of rushed and also the CGI in some places. really wish they would have used more practical/animatronic effects.

overall though, i give this movie a 8/10. still think Jurassic Park is the best of the series

The only practical dinosaur I noticed was the Brontosaurus.

I FLOVED it. I'm happy with it. I echo the sentiment that nothing can touch the original but this was overall an enjoyable experience. I love our old gal Rexy.

Oh and yes, the raptors were a highlight for me. Love them. Bad asses. I loved the raptor gals in the original as well. I already want to see this again.

However, I've always been the kind of viewer who rooted more for the dinosaurs than the humans. Is that messed up?

.. dat ending though!

Got a feeling Wu will be creating more dinosaurs. This time **** is about to go down on the main-land. Setting up a park where it's dinosaur vs dinosaur. News reaches Animal Activists and they try to release the dinosaurs. Que Ian Malcolm and Sarah. MAKE IT HAPPEN!

I really love that Jurassic World is praised by most of us. I'll go see it on sunday. Schedule is too busy :(
