I also didn't buy his crying when he talked about their parents. Speaking of...they could've done without that whole subplot. It really took away from the film.

That was one of the complaints I presented to someone today. I just didn't understand why they bothered to add that to the film when they completely dropped it soon after. I know there was a brief moment early on that gave you suspicion, but it wasn't that obvious. Then they go into this scene to give some form of back story to these two characters, and it's never brought up again.

It didn't make me care about these two characters more. It was a random piece of information that was never elaborated upon further and we never hear anything more of again.

Honestly, the entire opening of the movie up to the moment to the kids reach Jurassic World felt rushed and poorly thrown together. That did feel like I was watching a trailer for the film.

This thing earned its money, and rightfully so. Even the slight comic relief was done well and not overused, Jake Johnson cracks me up.
Yeah the comic relief computer guy was well done. Sometimes comic relief-type characters can come off like enormous cliches. But that guy's humor wasn't overdone.

The only thing I could think of during that triage scene at the end was that every one of those 20,000+ people were a about to call lawyers and sue the park.

I think the next film will no longer be about the islands but about people trying to stop inGen in more of a spy movie style. But, with dinosaurs.

It's going to be a very interesting thing, the premise for the sequel. Realistically, as you say, a lot of people are banding together for a lawsuit, no matter what kind of release InGen has visitors sign when they book their tickets. The government would surely look into their reckless business practices that allowed them to create a super-dino without knowing the full extent of its capabilities and giving in the proper rearing. Hell, as the person in charge at the time, I don't think even Claire gets out of this scot-free. At best, her career is over.

Still more then I expected. I have a bit of a crush on Katie McGrath, and I have never actually seen her on the big screen. Having a few family troubles right now, so I don't know exactly when I will get a chance to see this. Thank you for the info guys.

She looks a little bit like Kristen Stewart. If Kristen Stewart ever smiled.

Is it bad that I laughed pretty hard when their dad goes, "Well so much for our last family breakfast." WTF

That line came out of NOWHERE LOL

(David Wallace FTW)

I like how his scene with his female coworker was basically a lampshading of the earlier kiss with Pratt and Howard.

Ha, sums it up, I think.

I like how his scene with his female coworker was basically a lampshading of the earlier kiss with Pratt and Howard.

That's actually what I thought they were going to do when I saw Owen kiss Claire. I thought she'd quickly pull back and have a little "What are you doing?!" "Oh, I though we were having a moment" exchange. Disappointed they didn't. The kiss felt unearned and unnecessary.

I was glad they lampshaded it with the control room pair, as you said.

Given that Trevorrow isn't coming back, they should get Gareth Edwards if they ever do a sequel.

Now, you may have liked Godzilla (2014), you may have not, but the guy's a colossal Jurassic park fan and his debut, Monsters, could pass for a more than solid Jurassic Park film in terms of tone, atmosphere and wonder (just imagine that instead of aliens, those are dinosaurs that escaped to the South American jungle, which was even a plot point in the books).

Those pterandons are not gonna stay on Isla Nublar, we saw that in previous flicks.

That's because it felt quite shoehorned in and was just poorly executed in general.

It's a damn shame because that would have been pretty interesting to see in a full-fledged movie, if well done. In a draft scene that was never filmed, for example, they explained that some raptors sneaked into the ship and killed the people operating it but I guess that was cut for time.

Imagine a movie whose first half/quarter is Alien and whose second half is hunting a wild animal in the city. A wasted opportunity if you ask me.

83 mil opening day is crazy! I'm happy to see that the film has gotten pretty decent/good reviews. I'm probably gonna see it today with my family as they have been waiting for this ever since the third one ended. And I will definitely be driving quite a ways to see this at a true IMAX theater which I have only done once before with The Avengers.

I can already see the meltdown if this beat's AoU's opening weekend...

Looks like we will get plenty of dino mayhem for a while.

I disliked the Godzilla movie he directed last year. Painfully boring and dull for most of the run time. It's only saving grace is the climax fight... I rather give directing duties to someone else.

If they continue, they really need to move on from the "island" premise. It's so played out by this point.

Well they can still maybe try and do what Ingen and Ludlow wanted to do in TLW and that's "bring the zoo to them" aka they wanted to have their own JP theme park in San Diego. So that is one way again to get away from the island premise.

Is it crazy to say I wouldn't mind if they got Peter Jackson to do a sequel? I know its odd but I think he could kill a JP movie.

Wow, I knew this movie would be big, but I can't believe were looking at 190-200 million (based on Deadline.com est). I really enjoyed it. I will probably see it again.

Ah Hell no, Remember King Kong, Peter was good for LOTR trilogy but stay away from Jurassic Park!

Curious what if the next film went international. Say another country decided to do their own Jurassic theme park. Not too far fetched especially if they figure "we can do it better than America, we won't screw things up like they have in the past" type of attitude haha. I dunno I'm just thinking randomly hahaha.

Kill as in making us all fall asleep in his 3 1/2 hour self indulgent mess?

You know what I just noticed? All the damn kids in this franchise are children of divorce. Why did the writers keep going back to that well?

Another gruesome death in the series was Muldoon's. While it isn't shown (which is the beauty of it) just picture what that Raptor is doing to him. Hearing his screams and thinking back to the earlier line by Grant in the film about "you are alive when they start to eat you". Very gruesome and scary.

Yes, especially because Muldoon is a pretty likable character. He even lives in the book (only the "jerks" are punished by Crichton). So picturing being disemboweled and all that is gruesome.

But when I was thinking of the worse ones, it feels like getting ripped in half by two T-Rexes, or having a slow, slow death seems bad. The guy who got it by compys was eaten alive like Muldoon...but it probably took a lot longer. And [blackout]Zara went into the belly of a beast's digestive track alive, which means you know there's no way out as you go down that hatch and who knows how long that takes.[/blackout]

Funny thing is, we do not see really any of them fully except the lawyer, which is why that is a cheer moment.

Was just about to say this.

That's an Amblin Entertainment movie for you.
