How can a movie that made 13M on Thursday make less than 100m for the weekend? I don't think that has ever happened.
I refuse to believe it will be that low. Somebody made a mistake.
To be honest, the rules about "more popular characters should make more money" haven't applied for a long time now. The first GoTG made more money than both ASM1 and ASM2. Deadpool made more than MoS. Doctor Strange made more than X-Men. It's really not surprising that Thor would outgross Justice League. Is it kind of sad? Sure, but it's not like this is something new when it's been happening for years already.
Cinemascore is B+, same as SS, which means it will probably perform like SS this weekend.
And both those films got serious box office legs. I don't know what to believe anymore."It" got B+ too. That turned out alright.![]()
1. Still a passing score. Majority wins. majority>100 RT critics.
2. I know good movies flop too ofcourse. I'm talking mainly about blockbuster and popular movies and big time movie franchises. 98% of the time real bad movies flop hard except for twilight or even TF (if you call it bad). Real bad movies = flop, bad audience scores, no or every few likes from people. So if RT rate a movie as "BAD" but audience score and box office score is not, then its not really bad but actually good or ok enough. All requirements above should agree not just RT scores.
and whats the big deal with RT, their reviews are generic and lame like any casual viewers would say after watching a movie. the way review things their like you and me, normal people. they are normal and not experts if you read the way they review things. so if they are just like you and me, then majority GA>RT people pretending to be experts. these critics are not even detailed and technical (not scoring things such as costume, best batman look ever, acting, music, action, set pieces, best fight scene ever by batman, best superman costume ever, etc) in their reviews but rely more on their feelings and preference about a movie. wow such bias. No wonder SS won oscar for best makeup while RT people doesn't even grade such things and basically grades movie mostly if you have "fun" or entertain by it or not. mcu basic key ingredients no wonder they gets a pass.
Asgard is about to be destroyed but no one cares, who cares, no drama no stakes, thor gets his eye cut, who cares, odin died who cares, but its "comedy fun" so who cares, its still enjoyable so it gets a pass. Asgard was detroyed their whole civilation gone, but it doesnt seem like it, GA reaction = who cares! movie is fun thats all that matters. when it comes to JL this critics nitpicks things such as plot and cgi lol what in the world, have you not seen cgi of thor, loki and odin backdrop before odin died, or cgi spderman and upside down peter parker talking to ned cgi was so bad, why ignore all this in mcu movies specially the mcu plot (who cares plot as long as its fun) and forced and cringed quips and banters in mcu half comedy superhero movies while they nitpick JL quips and cgi and messy plot (so whats the plot in gotg2?) since they dont really have anyting else negative to say.
they make big deal about batvsup fight stop while gamora and nebula tries to kill each other (yeh forgetable no one cares side story) in the most brutal way but a few second suddenly stop because "i want to have a sister or something" what? but who cares right? gotg2 was FUN so it gets a pass while bvs is so serious so you overanalyze it and the moment you can't handle it you automatically say its bad.
Now, they nitpick JL characters are not flesh out even though JL movie tried and successfully squish it in the beginning of the film while gotg who gives a #$#$ about gamora, groot and drax stories as long as it's FUN and its good to go. whats the deal about scarlet witch, black widow, hawkeye, etc who cares as long as its fun
3. as long as its not below 6 then its a passing score and majority likes it. just like batvsup and SS majorities likes them. audience scores proves it, box office score proves it, facebook likes proves it and just like JL is bound to be
Remember Titanic?![]()
True. But a big reason why those lesser known superheroes outgrossed the more iconic ones is because of quality. Still a JL should be on par with The Avengers!
Someday.Definitely should be. Maybe one day it will be, just not yet.

This isnt Snyders fault.Ok, it's better than Marvel movies. You and everyone who feels that way should go see it a bunch of times and prove the critics wrong.
On the other hand it seems that a lot of DC fans don't like it much either.
They will move on from Snyder and start to get their act together. This too shall pass.
I'm wondering what effect not having Superman in the trailers, tv spots and posters has had on the opening weekend.
You're giving too much credit to Cavill's Superman, especially given the previous history of MoS and BvS.

JL isnt the first film to pay a price at the box office for protecting its secrets.I'm wondering what effect not having Superman in the trailers, tv spots and posters has had on the opening weekend.
It didn't, actually.
Suicide Squad never had serious legs. Its multiplier was middle-of-the-road for comic book films.
If Justice League ends up with a similar multiplier, given it has a similar CinemaScore, a $97 million opening (which is optimistic) gives it $237 million domestically.
That's awful.

SS also benefited from no competition in the follow weeks.
We are not there yet.It didn't, actually.

There is a lot of studio mandating going on here.
Facebook/Instagram/Twitter/Reddit are going to be so much fun! That DC vs Marvel fan war isn't going to die anytime soon, especially not with how JL is currently performing!
What war? Marvel has clearly established itself as number one on film. Its not even close.
