I mean you kinda just have to put up with superman coming back after he dies. Its just part of the mythos. Asking for superman to die and not return like asking for captain America to never get thawed out, its part of his story to return. His death doesn't mean any less when he comes back doesn't change the fact that he died saving the world.

Comic book readers were incredibly angry when Superman was brought back in the comic books. That destroyed Death as a whole in comic books. When Cap died in the Civil War comic he didn't come back to life.

Technically speaking, neither Cap or Superman died in those arcs since it was later revealed that the supposed death blows that they received weren't so fatal and that it just placed them in some induced state.

Retconned BS. ;)

Next thing you know they'll bring back Peter Parker in the Ultimate universe and ship Miles to Canada. :o

All of the time we offer proposals of how to do things better from the lofty hill of hindsight. I do it as well. It is an interesting exercise to explore alternatives. However, we should not let it become points of increased emotional reaction, as honestly, we all rarely stop to think about the many consequences of our simplistic alternatives.

Like having Superman kill an enemy by stabbing him in the back, from behind.

I can see the hashtags...

CowardSupermanNotmySuperman
TellThatToDoomsdaysBack

ad nauseum...

And to add another baffling reaction to the list, a friend of my daughter was shaken and saddened at the ending, and then said she was angry with Wonder Woman, stating that if she had not cut off Doomsday's hand, Superman would not have been stabbed. Really.

What can one do? Everyone sees things from a different perspective.

I was just happy to see the proto-JLA fighting together before me.

Nah she cried and let Batman do it. ;)

Anyone who thought Superman was going to stay dead needed to be slapped. And I am pretty sure Steve Rogers is back to life.

Yes, Steve Rogers is back to life, but in diminished physical condition, after others took up the role of Cap in his stead... Wait, that sounds sorta familiar...

Shhh! Don't pull the thread. Comic fans will explode. On second thought continue, I relish in the chaos.

So will we get a Superfriends joke in the JL movie?

It will probably be renamed The Seven Superheroes and mirror the structure of the Kurosawa movie. We already have the weary veteran, the most perfect warrior convinced to come out of obscurity, the fastest man alive...

The death of superman should've been it's own movie after he's established, or matured I guess in this Snyderverse, the worlds greatest hero giving his life should've been an event. It was reduced to a twenty minute brawl that's really only there to sideline him at the start of JL. Snyder has admitted as much. He then tacked on it somehow redeeming bats and ww to help sell it, which is pretty weak reasoning, to be honest.

I have to hope and assume they did this knowing how the rest of the films will pan out.

fingers crossed.

I'm actually really glad that they ran the Death of Superman storyline first. It's always been a stretch of imagination for me to think that this skeptical world could so easily embrace an alien entity, not to mention one as powerful as Superman (Area 51 films reflect earth's paranoia and greed). Superman's death will shock the world into realising that in spite of the biological differences, Superman was one with humanity right up to the end, and proved himself to not only be trustworthy but a great protector of lives. For that, non-humans will gain a more favorable view by the public. This will make it easier to encourage the rest of the metas to come out of the shadows into full public view without the threat of being ostracized.

Like the true leader that he is, Superman has set a precedent for the others with his death.

He will give the people of Earth an ideal to strive towards.
