This is a continuation thread, the old thread is [split]514219[/split]
There is a difference between failing once a while and failing repeatedly. Snyder fails repeatedly. His last four movies have been underwhelming. He says he doesn't see what he could have done differently with BVS which means he has no idea what his weaknesses are. Even Brian Singer, who is far better then Snyder, recently admitted that he can see what his mistakes were in Superman Returns. He said that he saw women lining up to watch Devil Wears Prada so he included a love story in Superman Returns to attract women. That's what great directors do. They have self awareness to see their mistakes.
Snyder doesn't have that self awareness. He blames everyone else, even fans, for his failures. How can you still think that JL, whose foundations were built on MOS and BVS, will turn out to be fantastic is beyond me. Unless Affleck is doing the actual directing behind the scene and Snyder is there just for namesake, Justice League will turn out to be mediocre or even downright terrible. You should stop criticizing DC fans for their pessimism. Their pessimism is based in reality. It's not like they wanted DC movies to be bad. In fact, I find optimism to be delusional at this point.
yeah, what's delusional to me are the people who didn't like mos or bvs and are still spouting off about it. it didn't work for you, you think the guy's a hack, etc, that's fine, and i respect the opinion, but why on earth would you hang around a message board for his next movie? i can't fathom following a franchise i don't like, let alone hate the director. some people post like they need counseling. no, it's okay, you didn't like the movie, you don't like snyder, so move on, go follow something else, go outside, whatever. i promise, you aren't bound to follow movies you don't like. you're free now.If some people hated BvS and MoS, there's no reason for them to be optimistic. Maybe they should skip next couple of years, till another director arrives.

In regards to people who stick around despite their vitriol for Snyder, I don't really mind them being in here voicing their opinions. They love these characters like the rest of us and they're curious to see what is done with the first Justice League movie.
Sure the whining can get old sometimes, but I still enjoy having conversations with people that share different opinions.
There's not been enough shown to accurately gauge whether Snyder is self aware or deserving of the benefit of the doubt. MoS had it's direction and all that, but the whole DCEU was pretty much planned after that. Ergo, some of the seeming "inability to be self aware" and "incapable of change" stuff could be a result of them doing a semi-start over to begin their shared universe.
Pronouncing judgments like "snyder doesn't know what he's doing and won't change" are so absurdly egotistical. None of us our psychic. There's no way anyone outside the production can make such pronouncements.
BvS was Snyder's second chance. While there were improvements to the dialogue and cinematography, there's still the same technical problems.
I think they should give Snyder a smaller budget movie if they want to keep him on the DCEU. Maybe something like Lobo that's more in his wheelhouse and even let him make it rated R.
Justice League is way too important and the reception of MOS and BvS can't be overlooked. If the DCEU has real consequences, then Snyder needs to face some real life consequences too.
Awesome post.i don't mind anyone being here, there, or anywhere. discussion is obviously what this place for. but if you come in with an attitude resembling, 'snyder doesn't get super heroes like i do, now calm me down, talk me back from the ledge, and tell me why i should go see justice league.' hey, you think it stinks, you don't like the guy, tough luck, i guess, but all i can think in response is, then leave, snowflake. it's a super hero franchise, not a way of life (i pray). i can't think of anyone who didn't like the first two prequels, but loved revenge of the sith. you know the director, you know his vision, if it hasn't worked for you at this point, it's probably not going to. it's perplexing to me that someone would spend their free time on a message board dedicated to a movie they've already decided they're going to not like, or, better yet, already know how it's gonna flop. it's laughable, like the simpsons comic dude is alive and well and living in the bodies of many men and women.

Awesome post.
About the bold part. Actually, I saw plenty of people who hated two first films and liked RotS. So, if we use this example, plenty of people still have a chance with the third Snyder film.

I'm one of those people, quite enjoyed RotS, pretty sure quite a few did actually.

There's enough evidence in his film making to suggest he isn't aware of his own weaknesses. Great artists know when they screw up, they admit it and learn from it. Bad artists think they know what's best. I'm happy to be proven wrong but I have not heard Snyder once say words to the affect of 'I screwed up'.
This is true, but what's there to learn from if many of his mistakes are intentional as part of the direction of the story?
If he's following a birth of god, fall of god, resurrection of god arc, the story takes care of itself and there's nothing to learn from.
