and jokes it was indeed a wacky day. imagine the mayhem when comicon arrives. mama mia!

I'm really hoping some brave soul out their manages to Periscope the Warner Bros panel again like last year.

Bless whoever did it last time.

You are using fresh to refer to Zack's movies a rotten tomato term with rt being a critic review website, hence my point on critics being irrelevant and having as an opinion no more weight than mine.

I saw the thread get locked and got scared another ****storm went down and C. Lee locked it lol.

Anyway, as far as RT goes, if it scores (relatively) well with critics, I wonder how much of that is because of WB putting pressure on Snyder to make a crowd pleaser.

But I wasn't asking whether or not you cared about critics' opinions, I was asking if he could make a Fresh movie. :oldrazz:

and I countered fresh doesn't matter, entertaining and profitable does, and zack's movies are generally entertaining (to me) as for money that would require research I don't care enough to do all I know is mos and bvs were profitable so he must be doing something right.

Snyder's biggest problem is his films don't have legs. I think Watchmen and BvS are the two weakest superhero films of all time in this regard, their box office multipliers sucked. Repeat value is vital for a movie and those films had weak legs.

Now I'm wondering what the hell Aquaman has been up to this entire time. All of those posts with Jason and now absolutely nothing about Aquaman.

**** the critics. **** RT. Everyone here is going to see the movie no matter what. If you like it, you like it and if you don't, you don't.

Nah. I'm skipping it if the buzz isn't good. I'd rather watch Thor 3 and Episode 8 instead.

The buzz for BVS was so negative WB invited reporters on set 18 months before release with no embargo to ease the public's mind. They know earning critics and fans' trust is key if they want to keep JL from bombing and singlehandedly killing the franchise.

Someone the other day compiled a list of big budget wide release movies with below a 2x multiplier - nearly every single one on the list is widely regarded as awful, and Snyder has three of his films on that list.

That's a problem. Even with all this news I still can't be anything but skeptical with Snyder still there.

There's no point in telling us that you're skeptical, jmc. We all know. :yay:

Thor 3 is going to have to work to get my money after two lackluster movies. It's in nearly the same position as Justice League with me.

Like it or not, in this day and age with the internet the RT score (or "general critic consensus" if you want to look at stuff like Twitter, etc.) absolutely impacts a big blockbuster film. I know people love to point to Transformers as proof that they don't matter (why would you want to be compared to Transformers anyway), but that's the exception to the rule (with a much heavier leaning towards international box office in recent films anyway). Do you think it's any coincidence the Furious franchise really exploded after it started getting movies that were actually well reviewed?

JL is gonna need the critics on its side to be successful. I know that's not what some of you want to hear and that only your opinion matters to you (as it should) but this franchise cannot survive another underperformance, let alone an outright bomb.

I can't muster up enough interest to go see Thor 3.

I think he simply wasn't working that day.

Just saw this on YouTube. Hope it hasn't already been posted. It probably has.

All this seems a little superficial when you really think about it. At the end of the day, it's all about the audience's mindset and perception going into the film. Obviously, if it's got a fresh score, audiences will go in expecting a fresh movie, and looking for validation that it's a fresh movie. And of course, the opposite applies if a film has a rotten. I'm waiting for the day when studios will flat out rig RT and bribe RT scores.

AICN is reporting that JL part II got scrapped (assuming so from the statements that the movie is standalone)

Why not just simply make good films?
