Anyone think his power could be that he is Immortal? We see him with Hiro in the season finale, and then when Hiro is in ancient Japan, it looked to me as if Kaito was Kensei.

So what do you guys think his power his? I'm going with Immortality.

I dont think so but it is a possibility.
athough it is more logical to belive that they are just related.:whatever:

His eyes looked more like Ando's to me. (yeah, I know that would be extra weird)

Immortality is possible. The samurai in blue does look like him. And there's this line he once said "I've been waiting for a Nakamura to ascend." ****, how long could that have been ?

They are related, it's just maybe Hiro's father has been around longer than we think.

LOL, I don't think it's Ando. :D

I was think that the one in read looked like Kaito. Though I could be confused. But for him to say that he's been waiting for a Nakamura to ascend, that's for sure a long time, well that's if he's Kensei.

Well, his power would have something to do with the fact that he could take on entire armies by himself and win. I don't think it would be immortality, simply because it's too similar to Clair's power.

True. But Clarie's power does differ from Kaito's power. Like I said, that's if his power is immortality. Claire can regenerate...

Instead of thinking of it as immortality, think of it as slow aging or something like that.

Maybe he has a power similar to Hiro's. What if he has the ability to slow things down, not to the extent Hiro can, but enough to give him a significant edge in battle, even against multiple opponents. And he's managed to use that power to slow his aging and extend his life.

If thought of in that way, then Hiro would be an evolved version of Kensei. Able to control time completely, not just slow it.

That would also explain the training session, without relying on Hiro to have slowed or stopped time.

Yeah it would. He's been alive a very long time, so he's had a VERY long time to practice.

No, it wouldn't. Unless he could recreate a "300 Spartans" scenario every time, there's no way he could decimate entire armies by himself, no matter how much practice he's had.

something that hasn't been addressed yet is the eclipse. the eclipse is connected to the present day heroes' realization/manifestation of powers. perhaps the eclipse in 1671 is the triggering moment for Kensai's ability.

That's a good theory. I just watched the season finale again, and it for sure looks like Kaito. The eclipse moment definetelty serves as speculation.

I've been watching all of the episodes this week and just watched Six Months Ago last night. When Nathan is in the hospital talking to the doctor, Peter is waiting in the hallway outside. The doctor gives Nathan some news about his wife and Nathan pushes him away. The camera's perspective is in the hall; it zooms in and stops. There's something in the reflection of the window, right beside Nathan, made to look like an eclipse. pretty cool.

Then just chalk all that up to the stuff of legends. All we really know about Kensei is what we saw in the last couple of minutes of the finale. Everything else could simply be a fabricated legend.

Or do you think he really did meet a Dragon?

when Hiro and Ando are in the museum about to steal the sword, Hiro tells how Kensei recovered a sword frozen in snow...

Actually, yeah. At least, I think he encountered some incredibly powerful individual, most likely another Hero, who could, amung other things, take on avery large, monsterous form. I'm thinking that the dragon and Uluru are connected.

Anyway, my main reason for being against the idea that he simply doesn't age is that, to me, it just seems kind of lame. Not only is it a tad uncreative, but it's just a bit of a let down. When Kensei was first described, I got the impression that he had a power so destructive that he can barely keep it in check.

Well, maybe there is the possibility that he isn't Immortal. In the season finale when we see Kaito on his horse, against the army, maybe we will see him do something to them with a power of his own. A power that can help him defeat all of those men.

Well, me and a friend have a theory about his power: He's a shapeshifter. A genuine shapeshifter. Like the bad guy from Terminator 2. It would explain his not looking any older after all these years, since he could look however the hell he wanted, aswell as his supposed durability and prowess in battle. It even explains how he can rip out his heart and live, as he could grow another one at will.

Well, keep in mind, so far, none of the parent/kid's powers match up, or are even similar... i mean, you link super-strength and phasing, you get a technopath?
