I heard they are remaking Overboard as well, why dont they just go and remake everything, including Turner and Hooch and Splash and all those other 80's movies!

This movie is set in China, not Japan. Jackie Chan is Chinese, not Japanese. Jackie Chan does Kung Fu, not Karate!! The moves in the trailer look like Kung Fu moves........

what does this have to do with karate??

maybe it's because I'm half-Chinese.....but I'd feel kind of insulted if this was clearly kung fu/Chinese based ( which it seems to be )....but still called Karate Kid...

I mean....is he learning karate from Jackie Chan or kung fu??!!

if they want to do Karate kid...why not set it in Japan and have him learn Karate from a Japanese Karate instructor???

Yeah, the fact that they didn't bother to change the title to 'The Kung-Fu Kid', instead, is a big step down in class. This film looks like trash. No message. No interest. No thought, whatsoever.

I hate to say it, but given that Levy's been in all the DVD sequels, I'd say he's failing waaaay worse than Chan. At least this will probably make some money, tragic as that may be.

It looks like a typical action film, so I don't expect much from this movie so this is a skip for me. Though it does look like they at least trying to make a good film (which is more than I can say for Dragonball: Evolution).
