Kenneth Branagh to direct Thor

I haven't seen any recent movies with him, so I don't really know how old Kenneth is right now, but I'm sure some Hollywood magic can make it work.

Hey! I just realized that he is right now in a movie that is named after a Norse goddess...which is also a Marvel character.

I can't see him taking a major role in the movie. I think given he is going to be taking the helm of such a large project, he will be wise enough to not play a primary character.

Yeah I will let it go because I don't care what changes are made because I don't read comic books so I will not be aware of what is faithful and what isn't.

But my own ideal way would be what I posted.

But Blake isn't a real person, so it's not quite the same. It's not like THor was inserted into the body of an existing person. Blake is no more possessed than Bruce Banner.

I don't know much about Thor, but it says on Wikipedia that Blake is a real person, and that Odin "places Thor (without memories of godhood) into [his] body and memories".

But if he doesn't know about the comic book on which the movie he's discussing is based, he shouldn't be giving his opinion on what way the story should go. It's completely invalid. It'd be like me giving my opinion on how a Tom Clancy novel should be adapted, when I've never read Tom Clancy.

I am a film and TV fan. I enjoy comic book films and want to be kept update with any new projects.

Yep. Pretty much that, if I went into the actual "Comic Book" thread and posted stuff then it would be wrong but this thread is about the film adaptation of Thor.

Just because I don't read comic books doesn't mean I don't know of the characters. I know basics of Thor, Hulk, Iron Man, Cap, etc... and feel I have enough knowledge of them and some comic book story lines which allows me to post "valid" opinions.

Never really been a Thor fan, but the fact that Kenneth Branagh is helming this has me kind of eager about this one.
I'd rank this on par with Marvel snagging Favs for IM.

I'm not a huge Thor fan but overall a big Marvel fan.

I think it's great when Quesada says Branagh started quoting continuity and past storylines.

Thor fans hopefully should be happy, it seems it is in the right hands. If Branagh is actually doing enough research to quote continuity, hopefully he'll pull a Favreau with this film.

I just hope he does a good job I've been a Thor fan ever since I got my first Marvel coloring book with Thor among other in it(Thor and Colosus was the only ones I ever colored though). Up to this point Thor has been in one movie Return of the incredible Hulk I was pumped to see him at the time cause any Thor was better than none. If this movie is successful maybe this could be his turning point where he leaps the annoying teenage anks of Spiderman into Marvels top dawg.

Pretty much any chick who could play Wonder Woman well would be equally great as Sif, IMO. Can't get Megan Gale for WW(cause WB/DC's twiddling their thumbs)? Cast her as Sif!t:*
