Killzone, despite it's bad AI, at least required you to think tactically and form strategies rather than running in guns blazing. Gears of War actually owes quite a bit to Killzone in terms of gameplay.

I even like Uncharted (from what I've played) less than Jak because the shooting system is pretty much Gears of War, ugh. Allegedly we might be getting some new Killzone 2 news soon.

Gear's of War's "shooting system" is also in such popular games as Rainbow Six Vegas and Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter. No one complains about those games. Don't complain about Gears.

I'll give you that. There were quite a few sequences that I had to replay constantly b/c my approach sucked.

First, let me clear something up: Lord of the Rings has not been announced for either of the next-generation movie disc formats. Yet. But when it is inevitably announced, I certainly hope that it is either on both formats or Blu-Ray only. It would be a terrible loss for western civilization if the best movie trilogy since Star Wars made it's HD debut on a format that's on the verge of being discontinued. Why Amazon has a listing for LOTR under HD-DVD but not Blu-Ray, I cannot comprehend. But hopefully New Line will be sensible enough to release it on the consumers' format of choice- Blu-Ray, that is.

Hopefully when the Blu-Ray version of LOTR comes, it will be given the same kind of royal treatment it got on DVD, and what The Ultimate Matrix Collection got for HD-DVD (and Blu-Ray this fall). Both versions of each film on the same, non-flipper disc would be nice, as would having an in-movie experience, commentarries, and hours of behind-the-scenes footage in HD. I do not know if they'll be able to match the superb features list that accompanied the LOTR Extended Trilogy on DVD, but hopefully they'll come really close, or give us new features that are even better.

And here I thought I liked the game!!! Boy was I wrong. Sure it was really rough around the edges, but the potential was there, and now that potential will most likely be realized.

* According to the developers, downloadable content will be developed after the release of the game
* The environments are destructible (walls, columns, vehicles, etc.)
* The "Hit Response System" will target the body parts of your opponents, for a devastating fire!
* Killzone 2 will provide coverage system much more advanced than the first episode.
* The reaction of the enemies will be scripted, however, they react to your position and your actions(decisions).
* On the sound Side, the game will be entirely in 7.1!
* The images of the game will be further processed through a software to give a more realistic look.

The game will be available in the year 2008.

There have been better looking games in the same genre, on the same console, already released, and the visuals were already being passed through with some post-processing effects, so I'm not sure what you're gushing about. Not that you've historically needed a reason or anything.

And what game would this be? The best looking shooters on the PS3 right now are GRAW2, Rainbow Six: Vegas, and CoD4. CoD4 might come very close, but KZ2 still has the edge. And it won't go gold for at least two or three months, which will allow them to polish everything even more. They could have seven months to finish up for all I know. And who wouldn't be excited for a high profile exclusive that apparently(it might not blow anyones mind) is turning out to be a great time? The 360 already has a great library, so why won't you just get off of his nuts? Oh, and once this game comes out it's gonna suck for me. Then I'll have to avoid this thread on top of AC, RacF, CoD4, and Uncharted. Damn you bastards with money to spend on next-gen systems(or parents, for the spoiled ones. I'm looking at you, Elektro!).
