I´ll make (or anyone else) an "official E3 2009" in the multiplatform section later in the month, but, so, as of now, let´s give this one a try, just like there is a Sony one in the...well.....errrr...Sony section.
And let´s start with...

From Kotaku:
The glorious, obnoxious return of E3 proper is mere weeks away. The hype is now palpable, with Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony inflating expectations for their respective E3 showings. But Microsoft may be hyping the loudest.
While Nintendo and Sony seem content to remind video game fans that they too will be attending the Los Angeles Convention Center, armed with new wares, Microsoft's Don Mattrick says the Xbox 360 maker is "gearing up for a big presence at E3 which will completely transform how people think about home entertainment."

Holy crap.

"We're excited about the momentum that is building in the industry in anticipation of our June 1st media briefing, which will kick off E3 in blockbuster style," Microsoft's hype ringmaster and senior vice president for the Interactive Entertainment Business at Microsoft says.

Sony and Nintendo are a bit more measured in their anticipation of the event.

"Sony Computer Entertainment America is looking forward to another great showing at this year's E3 Expo," said Jack Tretton, president and CEO of SCEA. "The audience of North American-based and foreign media and key industry partners makes E3 Expo an ideal place for us to unveil the latest PlayStation news and products at our press event on June 2."

"Nintendo has been a long time attendee of E3 and it has our full support," added Reggie Fils-Aime, president and COO, Nintendo of America. "E3 brings a wide variety of key audiences into contact with products from many companies, including Nintendo. It's the place where creativity is on display, and as a ‘sneak peak' for our entire industry it helps generate excitement for gamers around the world.

So... what can it be, any ideas?
It might end being BS, but i doubt it, the thing is, let´s wait and see if it delivers.
And, like i said in the Sony E3 thread, Microsoft needs that kind of E3....guess i was right. :p:

I had attended about three E3 in the past (my friend was working in the industry), and I wish I could go again to see the old E3 coming back with all the spectacles and glamour that made E3 what it was in the past. I hope Microsoft has something in their sleeves, because it is pretty apparent that Sony has many exclusives lining up for this year, but we have heard next to nothing about 360 at all.

they'll probably announce that a major title is going multiplatform. Question is what would it be

Great idea IH! Was thinking about starting one here and the Nintendo forum as well if no one else was going to. A far as MS and E3 goes, we know now that Forza 3 will possibly make an appearance.

The only major exclusive third party game for the PlayStation 3 that I can think of is Final Fantasy Versus XIII, but I think Square-Enix will wait and see how Final Fantasy XIII does before considering porting it, especially since JRPGs on the Xbox 360 haven't set the sales charts ablaze.

The other major PlayStation 3 exclusives like God of War III, inFamous, Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time, Gran Turismo 5, MAG, Twisted Metal 6, and Uncharted 2: Among Theives are first party games developed by Sony.

I guess they'll annouce LA Noire as a multiplatform title, but that's been kinda expected. Nothing is really going to top the shocker that was last year's announcement of Final Fantasy XIII going multiplatform.

And I should note that I'm excited about Microsoft's E3 this year. The last two years for them sucked, most likely because of the format of the show forced it to be boring; but with the return of the original format Microsoft really excelled at promoting the Xbox 360 in an exciting fashion.

Seems every year we seem to be promised an announce that will change everything, only to usually have either a new game or something that really didn't change anything.

Well, as I've said, I doubt MS is going to end world hunger like they seem to act like they will with their announcement, just like a doubt Sony will make the most significant announcement of the last 16 years.

Microsoft's Don Mattrick says the Xbox 360 maker is "gearing up for a big presence at E3 which will completely transform how people think about home entertainment.

You're in the Movies 2?

But seriously, like Teardrop said (I dig your Tron avatar, by the way) every year someone says something like this, and every year it turns out to be 100% BS.

The Xbox 360 certainly seems to be on a downward slope now so I definately hope they have a strong presence at E3 to possibly turn that around a bit. It seems like the only "big" game they have left is Alan Wake. And honestly my interest in that game has dwindled down to zero. We know they'll have Halo: ODST and I'm positive they'll be showing Halo Chronicles as well. If not, then I guess we can consider that game dead in the water. Rare will show a new game. As will Lionhead, I think. Microsoft will also have at least one new SKU, and maybe even another price drop. And I'm sure some Microsoft employees will embarass themselves on stage demoing they're latest attempt to stab into the casual market. Anyway...

This:

The last two E3s at least, if I use that a proxy for what’s coming, we’ve talked a lot about what its coming in the next five to six months after E3, and we’ve had some pressure that maybe we want to think a little broader about what we want to say at E3, a little further out in the future. I came out of an E3 planning meeting just about an hour ago and we were looking at some of the plans for the future and things that we might want to tease. It's very exciting, because there's a lot of stuff on the docket and maybe we'll break the bank a little bit and talk about things that are further out, which will hopefully get the community excited.

Combined with this:

We congratulate Sony and Guerilla Games for their effort with Killzone 2, however this is only the beginning of a new wave. The current technology employed for certain unannounced Xbox 360 exclusives far surpasses what gamers have seen in any game so far. Gears of War was the beginning of this technological benchmark when released on the 360. This lineage will be carried forward in the following months with exclusives that shall stand for a new definition of gaming experience and provide stiff competition for the opposition.

Tells me that Microsoft definately has something up their sleeve. But what? And will it be of any real significance?

As a Xbox 360 owner, I'm anxious to see what Microsoft is going to unveil. I just think it's funny how folks are saying like a month after the Christmas season when the 360 did extremely well with Fallout 3, Fable 2, Gears of War 2 that they didn't have much exclusive titles for the next few months.

I remember watching someone from Microsoft being interviewed about lack of titles and how Sony had all the titles coming out to wait until E3 and this interview was like around March. It's also interesting through research, some of those Sony titles are for early next year.

Furthermore, and I'm not a Microsoft fanboy but quantities for this March in terms of games had: Halo Wars which honestly I didn't think was going to do that well at 639k units with Killzone 2 which was heralded as this huge game at only 296k units.

Which ones are you talking about?

We just went over this in the GOTY thread. KZ2 has done quite well and there was no way it was outselling something with Halo in the title

I'd have to rewatch the podcast from X-Play, it was from March or something. I do remember them saying a few titles are slated for a end of the year release however, more than likely they will be pushed back to early next year. I wanna say God of War 3.

In terms of Killzone 2, I'd be interested in seeing the April numbers but from the same chart you had 2 other games on the PS3 doing better than Killzone 2. Resident Evil 5 did 585k, MLB '09 did 305k. Sure 296k for Killzone 2 is doing well, but at least to me it was heralded as a top game, maybe not near Metal Gear but it was suppose to be the answer to Halo according to some people. It's just surprising for Killzone 2 to come in 3rd among PS3 games for March.

Oh, yeah, well GOWIII is up in the air. Sony has said the target is definitely this year, but I wouldn't be surprised at a delay.

Well, from a quality level I concur. I personally put as high, if not higher, then the Halo games. Sales-wise, that was just a pipedream for Sony and the fanboys. I'm sure most rational people knew better

I guess I just find it a little ironic how and I'm guessing yeah it's usually fanboys saying Microsoft doesn't have anything in the foreseeable future and yet they list a game like GOWIII as an upcoming titles they are looking forward to which has been upcoming since E3 2008. It's almost like Killzone 2. I think Sony should work on it's timing of their annoucements.

I've played Halo all of 1 day at a friends house. Never really got into that. Although, I thought Halo Wars was an interesting concept and I got that game. :o

Well, it is suppose to come out this year, so yeah, but there was also InFamous, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, Ratchet & Clank, Heavy Rain, Uncharted 2, KillZone 2, Gran Turismo 5 (possibility) and FFXIII (in JPN, anyway). So, even taking out GOWIII, still a pretty solid line-up

Only things like MS really has is ODST, Halo Wars and Alan Wake (yeah right ).

I mean, just looking at it from an unbias outlook and detach yourself away from bias and personal tastes for whichever games, Sony's looking good for an exclusive outlook. Hopefully, this will change at E3 and all the big name 3rd party games that will sell awesome is on the 360, so it's not as if Sony will finally lead some type of holocaustial death march over MS this year

It was confirmed in the Twisted Metal: Head On PS2 port that the series would be coming to the PS3. I'm not sure the details of what you did in the game to get this info, but I'm pretty sure it's confirmed.

I don't even care, I'm buying it anyway. The game could be Sweet Tooth vs Calypso and nothing more lol

Possible Motion Sensing Peripheral.

* Full body and hand gesture control of games / characters.
* In fighting games you kick, punch, duck, dive, jump and so forth with your body.
* It also picks up small hand gestures like pinching, grabbing and scrolling.
* There will also be video conferencing and games with video.
* Trivia game over the internet with live images of each person playing. When a question pops up, they can clap to buzz in.
* You can "move objects on your screen" and the other party can see what you're doing in real time.
* Sensor detects only the person playing, not folks observing on the couch.

Well, I don't what other people want, but I can honestly say I do not give a **** about that, at all

XBL Jeopardy would be fun.

For 15 minutes.

The only reason I'm watching E3 is year is for Infinity Ward. :/

I read it on Kotaku, about the Full Body Motion thing.

Remember back in March the rumor of Microsoft was buying 3DV System, guess it was true afterall.
We all knew that Microsoft was working on a motion controller device since the rumors started last year, and, two GT TV episodes ago, Peter Moore, indirectly, confirmed it.
It actually does look like the next step of motion control, and that is what i like about Microsoft, they usually look ahead and try to enhance whatever they use, every generation they bring something to the table.
They did it with Live, they did it with the achievements, and now, by the look of it, and looking at what 3DV system is going, they are going it with motion control.
Remember Tom Cruise in Minority Report moving files with hand and finger gestures, and remember last year rumors of Microsoft trying to do just that....guess it can very well happen in the future.
But, in the end, let´s wait and see how it does really work, but, if it works as good as it does in theory, Don Mattrick is right, it will completely transform how people think about home entertainment.
The big question is, will it be any fun?
Because people are sick of motion control.

But, back to E3.
I´m really excited to see what Microsoft will bring foward, because i believe there will be tons of announcements from them.
I say that because Microsoft really needs to have a gigantic E3 (the lack of announcements is excruciating and people will start to lose faith if they don´t show something really meaninful).
That motion control is a good start, but i hope to see some big exclusives from them as well.
From several thing i´ve been reading, 1 or 2 new Ips is almost certain.

I dunno. I really can't see this moving beyond gimmick like the EyeToy and Sixaxis where developers really don't use it.

At least with Sony's motion controller, you can essentially expect a more accurate Wii Remote and see it's applications in regular games like Resident Evil, Call of Duty, Fight Night, etc.

And of course Sony will probably copy this and Microsoft will probably copy Sony's actual motion controller. All while claiming that they're being original.
