Kinect and it's effects on the WORLD.

You must have 13 year olds voting on these panels.

Wow. That's...almost offensive.

But, I think Microsoft now has a tagline.

"Natal. More important than teleportation and AIDS, combined."

You guys aren't thinking of the bigger picture... When the success of Natal helps Bill Gates finally realise his dreams of becoming a Superpowered Mecha-Jesus, he can heal any disease he wants! (After he crushes Steve Jobs, obviously)

Has anyone actually clicked the links to the list on time's website? The list doesn't seem to be a ranked list. It just seems to be a list of 50 inventions. They present the readers with a poll so that they can vote for which invention they believe to be the best. Project Natal is currently #29.

I'm pretty sure the list is Time's ranked list, and then there will be a separate user poll ranked list.

And destroy the iPOD, making the Zune it's replacement.

Kneel before...Zune?

Zune is the god that Bill Gates worships... You will obey!

Well, they have them numbered and number 1 says The Best Invention of the Year: NASA's Ares Rockets. So, I assume that means it's ranked

I believe you guys are reading too much on the subject.
Natal is not better than AIDS vaccine, to think otherwise is just stupid, but you need to think about the fact that you can control a game with your body, that´s a great invention, you want it to be so or not.

About the all rank stuff, well, Control free-gaming might be above the AIDS vaccine, but The Tank-Bred Tuna is #2 on the list, so...

Control the game with your body should not be ranked above a vaccine that could potentially save millions from one of the worse diseases we've faced in the modern world. There really is no two ways about it, no rationalization otherwise, no looking too much into. The list is numbered, and the first entry is label best invention of the year, so obviously there is some rank to it.

So he's Lex Luthor then

To tell you the truth, the more I've been looking up on Natal, the more and more unimpressed I've been getting. Mostly because at first it looked like something that was going to be unique for the Xbox 360 but it's starting to look like Sony is trying to update the PlayStation Eye to be as close as Natal as it possibly can.

It shouldnt matter whether or not Sony has the technology aswell, if the technology is actually as AMAZING as it's purported to be. I mean really its another step towards making virtual reality a....well, reality lol. (Provided, of course, that the hype is to be believed, and it will not just be another tool for gimickry ala Wii.)

I dunno, what made Natal so awesome to me at first was that it seemed like an unique experience for 360 owners, sorta like the Wii Remote is for Wii owners or blu-ray for PS3 owners. It's nice to see each console have that kind of uniqueness that jumps right out at you and says "Hey! Buy me."

The one thing that sucks about being a PlayStation fan such as myself is that we really don't get something unique. Sony sees something from Nintendo (rumble, Wii-styled motion controller) or Microsoft (online, Natal) and pretty much blatantly copies it. Blu-ray is nice and all, but it really doesn't do anything for gaming asides from the convenience of not having to change disks. When Natal was announced Sony pretty much decided to get to work to update the PlayStation Eye to have facial recognition, skeletal tracking, object motion detection just like Natal. I'm willing to bet that they'll end up allowing you to go through the XMB and watch movies just like Natal eventually. And I wonder if developers making Natal features will put the exact same thing on the PlayStation 3. It's cool and all, but I do wish that Sony would come up with something on their own.

Creativity and original thought have no place in the Sony business model! How dare you! Next thing you'll be telling me Fox Studios should try making their franchise movies GOOD! Ha!

Oooooooooohhhhhhh reeeeeeeaaaaally!!
Remember this that i posted and everyone said i was a MS fanboy?

On other news, Sony just said they are going to copy Microsoft, which i was positive it would happen.
What started by being a more precise "Wiimote", the Sony motion control is starting to be closer to Natal than the Wii.
Sony just announced that their new technology will face recognition (facial recognition software would "detect gender and even the age of the face, separate facial features such as the nose, eyes and ears, and even detect whether you’re smiling or not.), gesture recognition and, skeleton tracking.
Who else is going to bet that objects scanning will be a reality too?

I see a lawsuit coming out, or an all out war between Microsoft and Sony.

Remember the all "Kojima will never make a game for the 360" thingy, and i said that he would and the next MGS games would go to the 360 too?
Guess what?? ;)
Now, can you guys understand that, everytime i said something, i´m ALWAYS right ;)
OK, this last part was a joke, but the thing, i never said anything because i´m a "fanboy", i say things because they are the reality of things.

It´s extremely sad to see how clueless a company can be about what to do next, and no one beats Sony in that department, that´s why i made that post a couple of months ago.
As a company (and i´m talking only about the gaming department), Sony sucks, that lack ideas and originality like no one, it´s pathetic.
All Sony did this generation, the first generation they had any real competition, was to copy what the other guy did, be it Nintendo or Microsoft.
I was glad to see all 3 companies having their own unique motion controller, capable of their unique stuff, but that was asking too much.
This just shows that Sony doesn´t even have faith in their own technology, because they are, once again, coping what the other is doing.
The moment the "sonywand" comes out, it will be already totally irrelevant because you will be able to control games with your movements.
I´m doing to be really honest when i say that i will not be surprised if, of the games that will be released with the "Wand", more than half will not use it, they will use movement (in other words, they will use Natal)...it´s ridiculous.

But, if all goes like i´m expecting (and many are) and Sony copies Natal, it might be more harmful than good.
Since E3, everyone and everywhere talks about Natal, so, if Sony does it, everyone will point it out.

Actually Kojima is not making any game for the 360. He was highly against that when MGS4 was being made. He has nothing to do with MGS Rising and has been very vocal about removing himself from that project while boosting up Peace Walker as the next true MGS game as far as he is concerned. Besides I dont think there was much doubt about a possibility of a MGS game ever going to the 360, but more certainty that MGS IV specifically would never be ported (as that rumor popped up every few months), which it hasnt and most likely never will

Yeah, i know that it´s not Kojima that is making it, but i don´t believe that he doesn´t have anything to do with MGS Rising, i believe he is on the production team.
If not, Kojima is nothing more than a sell out, if not, what the hell was he doing on the E3 Microsoft press conference announcing Rising?

Most likely money. He's the face most associated with MGS besides Hayter and him showing up on stage was for shock value and it worked. I dont like what he's been saying about Rising as he's doing the series that he built up a disservice with his comments.
