Sequels Kitty Pryde movie in the works

Kitty Pryde was the inspiration for Buffy the Vampire Slayer, a character at the centre of a film, seven seasons of a television show, and varioius comic books. Of course, Buffy and Kitty are not the same because their worlds and mythos are not the same, but there is an appeal for protagonists like Kitty.

A Kitty movie could work if they went the silly comedicroute and based it off Claremont/Davis Excalibur with her as the obvious lead in a cross dimensional caper. The alternate dimension aspect would allow them to recast and have different variations of already used X-characters like Nightcrawler without it breaking continuity

Kitty Pride will actually be a great introduction movie for mutants into the MCU. Start off with one character who introduces you to this whole new world. So even if Disney takes hold, they can adapt for the MCU.

Also I suspect they're probably trying to keep as many jobs at Fox as possible.

In addition, they may be trying to make a reboot seem less likely by pushing all these various characters into the mind of the public - but the problem is it's becoming very messy regarding continuity and where these films fit in the timeline.

I'm not sure Kitty Pryde has enough backstory or dimension for a solo movie, though i'd be interested to hear what Miller proposed and thought.
Exactly. As if, it'll somehow make Feige want a reboot less. If anything it could have the exact opposite effect these producers DON'T want. With all of this middling of the water and bloated timeline - it'll make even more sense to clean house and start over.

And yeah, a Kitty solo could definitely work but It's wayyy too late now.
No. When you have things like Logan and Deadpool being more profitable than the main X-men movies, it makes sense to look at lower budget solo movies. Frankly, most of these seem like a creator who Fox likes pitches them, and Fox bites.

As long as they bring back Ellen Paige, I am interested.
But most of these projects will not see the light of day. Feige will kill the Multiple Man movie and this movie as well. Gambit too, had it not suddenly moved up it's production start to March. Why greenlit all of these projects with that in mind, and at the LAST minute at that?? Something is going on behind the scenes.

its like fans expect fox not to develop any movies for the next 18 months lol

Steinfeld. Period.

Tim Miller was very avarage in Deadpool, with no vision, no deep works on characters and the movie was only the Reynold's show (like Iron Man was Downey show).

Sigh. Another solo or another film that they could make on the cheap?

Fox forgets that the X-Men's appeal is they are an ensemble. While they have already used up two characters that could lead a solo franchise. They are also ignoring the possibility of Disney take over, and what these solo films could do for MCU X-Men films.

Can't wait for Disney to do quantity control.

they aren't ignoring it. I dont think anyone can ignore it, especially Fox. This film announcements are more likely a direct response to it. This nor Multiple Man will likely ever actually happen

18 months is a short time, like if you look at long term business plans. So is Fox looking ahead into the future by having these films in development when you know Marvel Studios would probably want to reboot the whole thing for their own line of films. I just think its not very smart. I wonder what are Bob Iger and Kevin Feige thinking of when they read these handful of Marvel films being pushed forward 12 to 18 months before they get Fox and the Marvel film rights.

I like Tim Miller handling a project.

I love Tim Miller handling another comic book project.

I'm not thrilled with Kitty Pryde having a solo movie.

I think Tim Miller would be a good choice for it if it was getting made.

I'm skeptical of it getting made if the Disney film goes through.

If this gets axed, I'd love Tim Miller to rework this project into a Tim Miller directed X-Men movie with Kitty Pryde as the point of view character.

I just don't think the producers or whoever is in charge is giving Marvel Studios/Disney any favor by developing these films. Like seriously, they are gonna be under the Walt Disney company in less than two years. Of course they still need to work before Disney starts writing them cheques, but in regards of Marvel films, they should wait and see first IMO. Its not like they arent releasing three Marvel films this year and there isn't a single one in pre production/development stage.... Oh wait.

I can't see this happening. It would have to be done or nearly done in about 18 months. Perhaps less.

I honestly don't see those movies happening either. Especially if Gambit is any indication

1. If Feige is taking over the X-Men, why is this happening?

2. If Fox had to greenlight films, why not team films like X-Factor and Alpha Flight?

they'd be more costly to produce and likely take more time. A character like Kitty Pryde doesnt require much in terms of visual effects, which in and of itself would cut down the time and money spent in post-production

So, I get the impression that most of you guys think they should just finish whatever they are working on, and don't plan to have stuff to make next year? That Fox has a definite end date, and people should just pack up their jobs?

They have Remy, Laura, Jamie, Dark Phoenix 2, X-Force and Deadpool 3.clearly another one wouldn't be enough. Geez.

1. Fox is a mess. Developing Marvel films that probably get the boot from Disney in 2 years isn't very wise. Denial is also their friend.

2. Because Fox likes to keep it cheap as much as they can, as they probably know that their largest X-Men films wouldn't make as much money as the MCU films or the biggest dceu films. At least X-Factor wouldn't be as low budget looking as the New Mutants.

They'll keep Deadpool so they may keep other properties. Who knows?

People really want a X-Men movie every 2 years rather than 2-3 movies/year? Really?

The franchise doesn’t need 3 films a year, not when it lacks structure and a clear vision for the future

You are thinking in terms of MCU.

The various X-films do not need to be interconnected.

But they should be.

I'm fine with getting X1 to X6 in 2022 to 2032, and nothing more in those ten years, if they can get the team aspect right. Gambit/Kitty doesn't need a solo film to truly shine.

How about it has a vision for the future while still having other properties run around? I just don't get why people want those movies to be shelved. A Kitty movie can be connected with the rebooted X-Men movie & other properties like Deadpool or even New Mutants or the Guardians. They can easily merge Deadpool to the MCU so they can also do the same with Kitty movie.
