Knight Rider 2008: The Thread

Hmm. I hadn't considered that this was part two. I'm feel better about it then. The end, especially the battle, did seem rushed. But, really, what weapons did KITT have. KARR was throwing bullets and rockets at him, and could pick him up and toss him around. KITT wouldn't have survived a long fight, especially with his repair systems offline. And they left it open enough for the bad guys to put KARR back together.

On a side note, anyone catch that they used KARR's original acronym again? Knight Automated Roving Robot instead of the exo-skeleton name they had mentioned in a previous episode.

Yeah, for all the build-up, the fight with car could have gone on just a bit longer. But I do agree, enough people left from the new KARR project could easily have a contingency plan. I just loved seeing Mike decked out in all the tactical gear, although for a minute, it reminded me of Simon Pegg near the end of Hot Fuzz.

As for KITT repairing itself, I do agree that it was way too quick. I think if they have simply establishing that the nano repairs were merely in progress and that it would take time for KITT to full repair. That would have been a lot better. There's futuristic technology, then there's freakin' magic!!

Furthermore, Dr. Graiman was like freakin' Tupac with all the damn pre-recorded messages! "Damn, I'm probably gonna die real soon! Better make individual messages for Mike, Sarah, and one for the whole team in general!" YEESH!!

But seriously, I really enjoyed the episode, and I'm hoping this new direction for the show helps keep it alive. Getting back to basics and keeping things more in line with the original series can only help. They just need to tone down on the cheese-factor of earlier episodes.

That last battle was Smallvillian. Even had the requisite anti-climatic conclusion.

lol at Obi-Wan Graiman

Graiman isn't dead though. Seriously. If Hell freezes over and the show isn't dead they could bring him back. His death wasn't onscreen and was hardly final.

I bet he's hiding out on a tropical beach somewhere, drinking pina colada with that hot piece of environmental protection booty from that earlier episode.

Knight Rider Online had a talk with the VFX guys:

"The folks at MasterKey mentioned that the epic battle between KARR and KITT was shortened because of the budget cuts that NBC bestowed upon the Knight Rider production.

They've put it up on YouTube for everyone to see. Here now is the full length of what it was originally conceived to be."

Don't worry weigabo, you might be saying it a lot more very soon.

it's sad that tripe like 30 Rock and The Office get all the attention....I really want Knight Rider to be good, maybe that's why I keep watching it....because it isn't another police procedural and quirky procedural (which seem to be fashionable)...it seems to be in its own place and I like that

They did make mention of having a funeral for Dr. Graiman but it happened offscreen of course. That is why Sarah left & went on her little out of control binge & why Mike went out to search for her.

Chances are between slim & none that they would get to finish it & have an extended KITT VS KARR battle for the season 1 dvd release but I hope that they would.

Whoa whoa whoa!!! 30 ROck is hilarious!!!

Graiman had unlimited funs and plenty of ways for his death to be faked, or the government to switch the bodies and fake it as well.

30 Rock doesn't get great ratings I thought.

Also, how do they get away with stealing government property? Shouldn't the government be sending foot soldiers after them for breaking into Area 51? I'm not sure how what Graiman says gives them authority to operate outside the law? Are they like a non-profit 501 c3 org now? Or can they just operate without the government telling them what to do like an independent branch of special ops or something?

Well, FLAG in the old series was a private organization the would go after criminals, or help police and law enforcement do so. I guess you can think of it as sort of a private investigations firm. Just really well funded and working on a much larger scale. Which is probably why it was allowed to fight crime yet still remain independent of government oversight.

Knight Foundation-funded public justice organization, the Foundation for Law and Government (FLAG).

I really hope the show survives another season now...Looks like they have finally found their groove.

If NBC trimmed the fat (cancel Chuck, 30 Rock, Biggest Loser) other shows would have more money....

I find 'Chuck' juvenile and insulting....it is Hollywood gang ****ing "nerds" under the guise of entertainment.....

Where is all this 30 Rock hatred coming from?!?! I need narcotics!

30 Rock sucks, and Chuck should go away. They don't get the ratings. Big Bang Theory smokes Chuck.
