Knight Rider 2008: The Thread

Update on the aicn article on knight rider press event yesterday:
UPDATED!! THE HOFF IS IN!! KNIGHT RIDER Press Event Pics!! + The New Voice Of KITT Is...

Merrick here...

We've been hearing indications for a while that Hasselhoff was in talks to reprise his Michael Knight role as a guest shot on the upcoming KNIGHT RIDER TV movie. The script definitely leaves open room for more appearances by characters from the original series - not only by Hasselhoff, but the original KITT (provided this backdoor pilot/sequel turns into a series).

We now have final word on Hoff's involvement, via this press release from NBC.

David Hasselhoff (NBC's "America's Got Talent") --
who starred in the popular lead role as Michael Knight for four seasons
during the original series -- returns as the same character in a special
guest-star appearance.

We evidently received this release yesterday & somehow it went into the wrong e-mail box. Apologies for the delay.

According to new KNIGHT RIDER star Justin Bruening, he's already filmed his sequences with Hasselhoff. This per a brief interview that appeared on G4's "Attack of the Show" last night.

So, there you have it.

They messed with the lights :( It used to be like KITT was almost blinking his eyes. Now it's like they are always open. :down

well we got to remember this isnt KITT(knight industries two thousand) for the show it is KITT(knight industries three thousand). In that update to aicn article it looks like hoff who has a cameo appearnce in the tv movie his role is left open to appear in the show if it is picked up along with kitt from 80s show and possibly other characters of the 80s show.

So i was wondering has any one heard when we might be getting a promo for the tv movie/possible series since it will be airing mid feb.

Thanks for the link man, it was cool wish it was longer. cant wait to see more promos.

I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS, I'M A HUGE FAN OF THE ORIGINAL AND THE FACT THAT THEY ARE USING MY CAR AS KITT,( I OWN ONE OF THE NEW MUSTANGS) IS ICING ON THE CAKE!!!:D:up:

Where does the row of red LEDs go on this thing? They have to have that thing doing it's swoosh-swoosh back and forth. Maybe someone can manip it on?

I'm actually looking forward to this series, teaser sounded good.

That should be using the old Trans Am from the original show.

Anyone else think that he says "Hello Mike" because if he said "Hello Michael" he would sound exactly like Gob talking to Michael Bluth?

I LIKE IT, I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THIS MAN, AND I PERSONALLY LOVE THAT KITT'S A STANG, ALTHOUGH I AM A LITTLE BIASED!!!;):oldrazz::D:up:

Meh, I'll give this a shot.

I watched all the reunion Knight rider movies and the Mad Max-ish redux Universal produced in the 90's, I'll give this a shot too.

Gotta love 80's nastalgia...

If it goes to a full series, they have to at least bring back the Bonnie character.

She still looks the same and she was Kitt's mechanic!

I would love to see the old Kitt being used every now and then in the show,
after all, there are so many great replica parts available, they won't have any trouble recreating the original car. its a piece of cake.

Fans nowadays have better looking interiors and actually functioning interiors than the original cars!

I'm pretty excited for this new series, I hope they do it well and that it goes on for a good few seasons.

Yeah it would be cool if characters from the 80's series appeared on the show every now and then. And I agree with daywalker they need to get the original KITT having guest slots!

i heard they do plan if the show goes to series to have it open to any of the old show's actors who are still alive to guest shot in it. Also i do believe we might see old kitt in the tv movie and if not they will probably have it appear during the show. We should be happy they did get hoff to guest star in the tv movie and i also read they left his role open so if it goes to series we could possibly see him appear some times.

I will reserve judgment until I see the TV movie, I guess with Transformers using the new Camaro for Bumblebee there was no choice but to go with a Ford Mustang and Will Arnett's dry deep voice will sound pretty cool as K.I.T.T.

But I'm confused what with a TV movie underway what happened to the feature film remake?

I'm gonna go into it with an open mind and low expectations - so hopefully anything else will be a bonus.

Slightly off topic but in line with the tv show remake thingy; have been watching some old episodes of Buck Rogers lately.

I have to admit, I'm intrigued with the notion of that show being re-imagined.
