Knight Rider 2008: The Thread

Yeah, I think Kilmer did great.

I did enjoy the scene in the garage with all the tech stuff and KITT parts everywhere

This show made me want a mustang! I'm at the ford website as we speak! Haha

sooo...just saw it and it was alright. pretty much what i was expecting. nothing spectacular, but a bunch of pretty cool shots and ideas. the ending crash was pretty awesome. Val Kilmer was great as KITT. the 2 leads were okay i guess...though i found it hard accepting that the guy playing Michael Traceur was ever in the military, let alone in Iraq.

as for KITT itself, i couldn't help but think that, for the first half of the movie, everytime they showed off KITT it was a commercial for Mustang...hehe. it was pretty damn cool though. it's how i always wanted KITT to be, sans him being a Mustang. it was cool seeing the black car do it's thing once again even though i wish there was more action.

it was a decent tv flick, but i honestly don't think i'd watch it as a series. the lead actors barely held me and once again, KITT being a Mustang bugs me. plus, the plot/script wasn't really that strong and i can see them running out of ideas fast. if they decide to go forward with the series i'll probably catch an episode here and there but i don't think i'd be into it as much as say....Lost.

yea because a bunch of people hanging out on an island is so intresting

I pretty much agree with Dorky on the story aspect...the script could have used a little work, and though the Mustang was cool, I really did wish for something sleeker. THat said, I would watch the series if nothing else for a bit of a nostalgic feel, that and to see what really good writers would do with Kilmer and Co.

Personally, as a Husker, my favorite line of the night:
"Whys everyone always hating on Nebraska??" :D LOL

I also liked Kilmer in The Doors, Tombstone, Heat, The Island of Dr. Moreau and Wonderland (a must see).

Don't forget "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang"...Kilmer was FANTASTIC in that! :D

kiss kiss bang bang is an outstanding film that everyone should watch at least once....

Lost is so much more than that. Given the choice between Lost and this show, I'd pick Lost. But I did enjoy Knight Rider and hope it gets picked up as tv show.

yeah...i still wish Knight Industries Three Thousand could've looked more like this...

oh yeah...was i the only one that wished the theme song featured the WHOLE song? i kept waiting for the REAL theme to come in but it just kept playing the sub-theme, hehe

I thought it was alright, though it needed, more Swooshing sound effect when close up on the front of KITT, and more of the original shows music during chasing scenes.

That was kind of the vibe I got too. But what if instead of giving Knight Rider a weekly series, they give it sequels? I'd be down w/ that.

I just wonder if we'll be seeing some cameos from the original K.I.T.T. The new K.I.T.T. was good but I miss the original's brand of patronizing.

P.S. I guarantee you the mastermind behind Black River is Garth Knight.

probably not.....Pontiac wont OK it and the guy who did the voice of KITT in the original wants nothing to do with knight rider

Wow Val Kilmer was great. I prefer his voice as KITT

Is this going to be a tv series or was that just a one time movie?

depends on how well it did tonight....NBC is using the show as a backdoor pilot...if enough interest is generated it might get an order for half a season, which is usually what new shows get 12-13 episodes

I really would be intrigued if they could ever get / ever have gotten the big budget big screen version of Knight Rider up and running...I wonder how that would have turned out...

Amen brother...that would have been the shiznitz...

Dudes, if this becomes a show, I smell a really messed-up crossover with Las Vegas where Mike Traceur returns to the Montecito and finds a way to score with Delinda. Meanwhile, Danny tries to get inside KITT so he could score with Sarah, the FBI arrests A.J. Cooper and the Montecito gets bought out by the Knight Foundation.

It would be great to Garth again:o

Mike seems the type to try and hook up with Piper, not Delinda.

i would too but i don't think that will happen. my big gripe about this movie was that there was too much drama and not enough action. i can easily see the tv show sacrificing more action for drama.

all i know is, if they're going to continue on with a series they better not have KITT driving on secluded highways for most of the show. i was starting to get tired of the scenery near the end of the movie.
