Knight Rider 2008: The Thread

I MAY BE BIASED BECAUSE I HAVE A BLACK MUSTANG SIMILAR TO KITT,:o:cool::up: BUT I LOVED IT AND REALLY HOPE NBC GIVES US A SERIES!!!:D:up: I THINK THEY WILL BECAUSE IF THEY DON'T, I'LL SEND MY KATT AFTER THEM AND HIS PRIME DIRECTIVE IS THE EXTINCTION OF HIGH LEVEL EXECUTIVES!!!:mad:

He stated quite emphatically to KITT that he does not believe in monogamy. So it looks like if the scientist girl wants to get with him, it will have to be in a three way with the FBI chick.

The ratings would skyrocket.

My dad joke about if this series is picked up, then he has no doubt Magnum, P.I. will be the next classic to return to tv before a movie remake .

was not a fan of the original, but i was kinda digging the pilot. KITT is a sweet ass ride, and i was hoping to that sweepstakes and have my own mustang KR. I thought val kilmer nailed it, i personally think it was much better than if arnett was voicing (the humor lines would have been too sarcastic, not the dry voice of val kilmer). I was completely sold when one of my favorite shows was featured on the pilot, that's right...THE MONTECITO. I was hoping for mccoy or cannon would show up.

The acting was horrible though, especially from the two leads, but i hope that will change over time. Good to see Hoff back. I would have liked the end if the car jumped off a flying plane instead of while still on the runway, at least that's what i was expecting.

sweet, i totally want one. do you have pics?

Well, just finished watching it. Better than I expected. Val Kilmer is KITT. And the Mustang has grown on me. Seeing it in action really helps.

I'll definitely watch if they pick up the series. If for no other reason than to see a Mustang turbo boost.

As a KR hardcore, I loved it.

And I also loved KR2000. A nice, more serious and grim sequel to the show. But I guess that's an alternate future, now.

But still, TKR is the worst thing I've ever seen in my life.

As for KR08... awesome. Pure awesome. If this doesn't go to a series, I'll be pissed. I want both Knights and both KITTs together against Garthe with KARR, Goliath and one of this new show's big heavies.

Screw Larson and his movie. As a KR fan, I don't want to see a restart. I want a continuation. He needs to get over his fued with Hasselhoff and make the feature film a companion to the new show, by allowing Michael and KITT to have one last big adventure to themselves (Like Kirk and crew having their final adventure in Trek 6 while TNG was getting underway). Then, I'd happily welcome it. But not a restart. Hasselhoff is Knight, pure and simple.

kiss kiss bang bang is an outstanding film that everyone should watch at least once....

Amen brother, funny as hell too - Kilmer and Downey have serious chemistry in that film.

I just wonder if we'll be seeing some cameos from the original K.I.T.T. The new K.I.T.T. was good but I miss the original's brand of patronizing.

P.S. I guarantee you the mastermind behind Black River is Garth Knight.

That would be a good idea if they could a realistic way to bring Garthe Knight back into it considering he's supposed to be dead ...... would also let Hasselhoff cameo a bit more without having to play Michael Knight, after all they can't have two Mike/Michael Knight leads.

It gets a pass because A) its not like Hasselhoff was sir laurence olivier during Knight Rider....he is hardly the thespian of our times. B) for a tv movie it wasnt half bad....you dont see a lot of tv movies on network tv anymore...not counting the ones on Lifetime.....and unlike some of you, I dont put Knight Rider on a pedastal because everything is cooler when you were younger....I watched an original episode yesterday and was severely underwhelmed

I know what you mean, I was obsessed with KR as a kid, but I watched pieces of it on youtube recently and it was SOOOOOO cheesy... Some of the stunts are still pretty awesome, though, and Hasslehoff is no Laurence Olivier, right, but he and William Daniels had a good chemistery.

But it´s good to see the general response seems positive, I was REALLY scared when they didn´t send it out for advance reviews, but then again KR was never meant to be a critic-pleaser.

Well if it is a series, you can count me in to be sitting in front of the TV to watch it each week.

I thought it was very well done. The Mustang grew on me, seeing it in action and all of the features he has. Kilmer was great as KITT, and being funny even if he wasn't aware of it (Are you a homosexual?) Also interesting was the nano technology that he has, I guess the molecular bonding formula has been lost? Major geekasm seeing the original TransAm shadowed in the garage

Should it be picked up, I'll be tuning in. Anything to get NBC to layoff their million reality shows. My Dad is Better Than Your Dad...wtf

I missed it because I forgot about it. I'm gonna see if I can watch it online at NBC.com during work right now. :)

Hey they did hang out at the Montechito

Magnum's Ferrari VS The new mustang!

I saw it last night. I give it 7/10. KITT (the car and Kilmer) was awesome.

yeah same here.

I might be in the minority here, but I thought it was terrible. Some of the effects were cool as some had mentioned, but the dialogue was painfull. My favorite was: "Is that your father you're talking to?" "You know my father?" "I saw him die". WTF? The characters had no charisma and they didn't get me to care about them at all. NBC failed on this one.

I am in agreement. Totally boring. Not enough action. David Hasselhoff couldn't act his way out of a paper bag but he brought a sense of flair to the role that this new actor didn't.

I for one loved the new Knight Rider. I really hope it gets picked up. If they do you know we will see The Hoff again, but I have doubts as to whether we will see the original KITT again. He was in pieces the the garage where we saw the new KITT, unless that was KARR.

how much does a car like that run for anyways? the basic model

I'm wondering, when do I get to find out how many cars I won? :o

Wouldn't it be sweet if Hoff became a series regular on the show? He could be the new "Devon". Barking orders through the screen at his son.

That would definitely open the door for the foundation to rebuild the original KITT and for father and son to do a ride together.

We can then bring in Kanye West to do a remix of the Knight Rider theme for that episode! LOL

Just finished watching it. Much better than I expected it to be. :) Mike was kind of ridiculous at the beginning with the threesome and all that crap, but I'm glad they at least gave us a plausible reason for why he's such a badass and why he's built like an ox. I would be very happy to see it picked up as a TV series, although I'm hesitant to believe Bruce Davison would be available for one. I guess they could take his character out of the equation somehow and either replace him with Michael Knight or someone else, or just have the team be Rivai as the handler who gathers intel and builds the missions, Sarah as tech support, and Dylan as the mechanic.
