Knight Rider 2008: The Thread

like I said last night, KARR should be a Ford Escort.....just for laughs

you mean like the Hammer...hahah, that's insane, i didn't know hummer replicas existed, crazy to see it.

ford did sponsor it, so it probably is a real shleby GT 500. But many sites say its' 40-60 grand, which is more reasonable than $100 grand, not to mention $175 grand.

When they first came out with the GT 500 a couple of years ago, dealerships were marking them up ridiculous amounts. I work for a chevy store, when the new Z06 came out in fall 2005, we marked them up from 69G to 120G.

When the Corvette ZR1 comes out early next year, MSRP will start at 100G and I'd gamble on dealerships selling them for 180G or higher.

Realistically, I dont think a trans am in any form could or would be included as Pontiac is owned by GM and they yanked Will Arnett just for voicing another car. No car company would do anything to help/promote another car company regardless of the situation

wow, cool...good to know. i didn't realize it was that much of a discrepency.

So has the price of the car (GT) gone down yet or not?

cast KARR...
karr is the old car. and they can not use it.

this new KITT can not have hes own KARR. Kilmers KITT is basicly the third car.
the first one was created to survive. then KITT was to protect. this is basicly the third car now. i really doubt that he made a fourth car.

but who knows what they will do.

The jaguar is a Ford's company, so maybe that could be KARR

its still a disaster tha tthey can not use the old car. i mean its a F..... sequel. its not a restart.

Oh, so whats the story behind KARR? a good car in the hands of evil? i didn't know that. They could still use a different origin, maybe not KARR literally, just a equivalent.

This post makes sense....the Charles Gaiman character basically stated there isnt anything else besides the new KITT, since he was relocated after building the original KITT and KARR was a prototype of that

sequels lose actors and rights to stuff all the time. it does suck, but not the first time its' happened.

See I told you they did played the original theme song from the original KNIGHT RIDER series .

Yes, it's a sequel, but it isn't the same computer. This is the Knight Industries Three Thousand. KITT on the original series was the Knight Industries Two Thunsand. So it makes complete sense that they didn't use another 1982 Trans-Am.

I think it's obvious that they can use the 1982 Trans-Am if the 2000 cameos later on, because they had two or three 1982 TAs in Graiman's garage at the beginning of the movie.

Since the car is no longer in production, I don't think GM really has any say in the matter. It's not like they'd have to provide them for the show.

And as for the story that William Daniels wouldn't want to return.... where'd that story come from? As a KR fan, I'd heard nothing like this, ever. Daniels wasn't approached because they never planned on using him for the 3000.

If Daniels returned for KR2000 and appeared on the Simpsons as KITT (several seasons ago, the very late 90s, I believe), I don't think he's got anything against the character or the show.

Because he probably worked on KITT, not KARR.

Hoff has given the new guy the blessing and that is good enough for me

Williams asked that he not be credited for the tv movie soon after it aired and has even asked not to be credited on any future Knight Rider TV DVD releases.

GM does still own the rights to the Trans Am and wouldnt allow any of their product on a show where a rival companys car is the star of the show and that is probably out of spite more than anything else

Larson is also trying to get a movie of Battlestar Galactica made, but I don't think it's gonna happen anytime soon because of the show. It's a shame, because I liked the original BSG, but I don't like the new one, so a BSG movie re-imagining would have been really exciting to me.

Wow, I'm surprised to hear that you like the old BSG and don't like the new one. I use to like the old BSG when I was a kid, but I can't stand watching most of the episodes (the same fighting scenes over and over, the lack of real terror when facing the cylons etc...) anymore. As for the new one, I love it. The crew actually looks like they are fighting for their lives. Why don't you like it?

the new BSG kicks major arse....he probably doesnt like it because Starbuck is a girl or some other stupid reason

I hope The Hoff gets to drive the new KITT at somepoint in the future .

Would have been cool if that was the case at the end of the pilot, but they didn't have the rights to car, and didn't knight go into hiding or something, i thought that was the whole point of him not being there with young mike, so he probably wouldn't want to be associated with the car, or seen driving it. But it definitely would have been cool to see that.
