Knight Rider 2008: The Thread

The more that I think about the episode, the more I feel everything was rushed. And that might have been a big issue. I think it would have greatly benefited from being a two-part episode.

Basically, keep the beginning (with the missile) the way it was. It was supposed to be fast paced and tense anyway. But the rest of the episode could have been greatly slowed down to allow for character and plot development. They could have built up the suspense and ended with killing Mike as the cliffhanger. Then immediately start the second episode, or make everyone wait until next week.

Don't know why it double posted. I didn't even push the button twice.

Watched the pilot and walked away with nothing.

They should've gone Mad Max with drunken Hoff cruisin' in his malfunctioning baby and saving lives accidentally. Yeah, totally.

Why doesn't someone start an online petition to have the show cancelled....online petitions ALWAYS work

Judging from how bad the pilot was, I'm sure it will get cancelled just fine on its own... Heck, if someone wants the show off the air, an online petition is the last thing they should do. They'll jinx it. ;)

the girl's acting was a million times better than that pilot, i cringed everytime i heard her talk. but a million times a really small number is still pretty small.

i actually thought it was better (acting wise from the main two) than the pilot movie, although the effects look slightly worse.

Agreed. Especially the scenes in the car when it was obviously green screened. I understand the need for it with all the stuff being 'displayed' on the windows, but either make it look right, or use real footage and not rely on the displays so much. Or something.

It was better than the pilot movie, but thats not saying very much. its still ****.

I loved it, loved the pilot and loved the first ep even more. The episode was intense, they didn't ease you into it just straight to the action and went with it from there!

I cant wait for the second ep.

i think it warrants my viewing till the end...but it certianly does not warrant the end of VEgas which was a MUCH better show.

I agree with that, I loved Las Vegas eventhough season 5 was a bit errrrr after Ed left!

Like Bionic Woman NBC once again screws up what could be a good idea with Knight Rider. Instead of building on the old show it comes off as a cheap fast and furious/ transformers knock off and not a good one at that. Hell I could come up with something better than this crap.:o

this show will be over after 15 episodes. if they are lucky the whole season. season 2 will not happen.

well, considering the episode rating of KR was a full point lower than the lowest rated episode of bionic woman (and we know how that story ended) it doesn't look good for this show. I'm actually surprised enough people watched the pilot movie to even get season 1 launched.

I'd say this week's rating will be a better indicator of the show's viewership since the first episode was online a week before it was on TV

Yeah well I hope it does well, I want to see this season run its course. I'm hoping it improves as did the Sarah Connor Chronicals!

People were curious. Good or bad, it's still Knight Rider, and it's understandable that people would want to check it out. A lot of people probably just saw it as a nostalgic novelty, and had no intention in devoting time to watching the show continue. I still maintain the tv movie back in February was good and enjoyable.

makes sense. caught my attention

Let's see if tonight episode will make a better impacted than last week episode . This series has some great potential to be a good series . If they get better writers and ton down the sex a bit . The original series with the Hoff lasted for 4 seasons a total of 90 episodes and it didn't have that much sex appeal . Tptb need to expand upon what made the original series a hit .

Totally agree! This 2008 version is all flash and no substance

I'm been watching the dvd pilot of the 1982 Knight rider over and over again. Mostly for nostalgia(the giant floppy disks lol) The women back then had a porn star look

Suffice to say the 1982 version is shakespeare compared to the 2008 version. I get a kick out of seeing Michael introduced to KITT.

Also KITT isn't a main star that must be glorified to the point of excess like the 2008 version. It's a machine and steps back when needed.

For example at the end there's no back talk or interaction between Micheal and devon as it's being sent for repairs. It's simply a tool.

Devon- Only you could have dented this car!

It's the people that made the show with 20% of the car being the focus.

I guess what I mean is in 2008 we know KITT is an icon and the production crew treat it as a star.

I actually liked the second episode better than the first one. Although it was predictable as hell....but the scene with all the chicks in bikinis is probably the only highlight

The writing seems to be "ok, we want an episode where we have numerous girls in bikinis" and then they write around that idea. And I don't care. It's stupid fun, perfect for Wednesday nights
