Knight Rider 2008: The Thread

we've gotten too used to shows with big ensembles (even if there's a clear series lead) for it to just be Michael and KITT on the road all the time.

but it seems they're going back to that formula. Bring on the corrupt sheriffs and single moms with one kid :D

I wonder if they'll add the voiceover now. You know the "Knight Rider.....a shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man....."
I doubt it. I wonder how the single moms angle will work with Mike and Sarah being practically betrothed already, too.

I hope they stop at a circus and find some excuse in the plot to load KITT up with clowns.

I was just getting used to Yancey Arias' character, especially since the pilot established him as keeping some very important information from Mike. Sydney's character was debatable; I didn't like her character in the TV movie, but as depicted in the series she was rather interesting. I liked it when she shot Mike full of tranquilizers to fake his death, and then he wakes up to compain about it. :D

I hope they don't completely ditch Bruce Davison, though. The guy is a terrific actor, and Charles was one of my favorite characters on the show. The "youngsters" need a stable mentor, and Charles should be around, even if it's only 5 or 6 episodes a season.

I would have expected Bruce davison to be busy like Amy Ryan on the Office so he would have to leave somehow.

I hope they stop at a circus and find some excuse in the plot to load KITT up with clowns.

or enter KITT in a race where he has to have gawdy racing strips and star decals

maybe we get a "very special episode" about child molestation or drug addiction.....Diet Pills FTW

As for the spoken intro for the opening titles, it'd be cool if they could reference both the original series and the new one in the dialogue. Here's what I'd like to see, in terms of the story.

"Long ago, one man made a difference in the lives of those around him. Now, another takes up the journey. A young rebel with a just cause, to defend the innocent and those in peril. Welcome once again to the dangerous world...of the Knight Rider."

Dear God, that would be hilarious. Justin "I totally take steroids" Bruening and Deanna "I eat half a crouton per day" Russo lecturing high school kids on how it's what's on the inside that counts. :o

She's not that thin, especially when compared to a lot of other actresses. Remember the whole weight fiasco about the new 90210 cast some weeks ago?

My sister remembers Bruening from some soap he used to be on...she said he really hasn't gotten any bigger or smaller

Regardless, any actress or model talking about how kids shouldn't worry so much about their appearance is going to come off completely condescending and ironic.

Only to people who are bent on being cynical.

Interesting quote just found on AICN..... looks like a second season of KR (if it happens) wil include as a regular.....

David Hasselhoff

That could be quite interesting as to how it'll work with the show going back to the originals format

HOw many more times are they gonna retool/reboot this thing? JUst put it out of its misery already.

NBC seems to like it and for some odd reason it is tracking well
Tracking doesn't really help it, the ratings are super low for an expensively produced, major-network drama. For all it's guilty pleasures, it will unfortunately be cancelled if they don't get an audience soon. Maybe it gets a strong showing when they air it after the NFL game, but that audience will have to continually tune in to keep those numbers up, and that is unlikely. Let's rejoice that we still have the old series to fall back on.

NBC is having issues with all their new shows that premiered this season....not a one of them has cracked the top 20 in the Nielsens

Yeah I know they already cancelled My Own Worst Enemy. Was it that bad of a show or did it suffer from a poor time slot?

They make a tv movie then greenlite the series and finally retool in the middle of the season.

Man if this doesn't do it NBC is going to blow up.

ER isn't the powerhouse it use to be and its the last season

Heroes isn't doing aswell as hoped

No "Friends"

Aren't the Thursday night comedies doing okay? I thought The Office got high ratings.
