An update from my contact at Warner Brothers Canada this morning. Review embargo for Kong: Skull Island is now Thurs, March 2, 5pm EST.

I hardly think a movie with the cast it has would be afraid of bad press. Outside of a few random fanboy rumors no one has given off the impression the thing is gonna suck.

Yup and WB are also screening this like crazzzzy. Kong: Skull Island has 139 advanced screenings all over the US. That's almost 7-8 times the no. of free early screenings of Logan and BATB combined.

This could potentially mean two things,

1> The buzz for the movie is considerably low and WB are tryna get word out on the street that this exists. A late marketing blitz from WB.

or

2> The movie is good. WB has confidence in this one and are not afraid to show it to multiple people before the theatrical release and this is not just a publicity stunt.

or

3> It could be both of the above.

I hope the actual Skull Island is as good or better than it was in Jackson's '05 version. I enjoyed Skull Island in that movie, it felt dangerous.
