Kong: Skull Island - Part 3

Well, that was something. Cool action shots and all, but...

What's with the tonal inconsistencies in these trailers?

Surprised it's not posted on the official facebook page yet.

I feel like they're trying to go the opposite route of how little they advertised Godzilla fighting with the MUTO's in G14, plus the general criticism of there being little of it in the film itself.

Problem is, they're going the extreme contrary this time around.

Sadly, that is what sells best.

We've seen so much of Kong by now that there's hardly any aura of mystery surrounding him, as there was for Godzilla in his recent reboot (which had a stellar marketing campaign).

Like I theorized before, it was probably in response to Godzilla's screentime in G14.

Except this time they sacrifice that mysterious mythical aura they had in the Godzilla marketing for showing buttloads of Kong footage so they can let people know Kong will feature plenty in Skull Island unlike G14.

It isn't tracking so great so far. Probably why they have gone Hulk catching Iron Man.

I do love just how much of Kong's personality you see.

Did WB hire that company to cut this trailer?. Pretty epic stuff.

I have wet my pants.

It is nice to see Brie Larson actually has a speaking role in this flick. :o

That was a pretty dope trailer and while there are a few new shots I honestly didn't think it spoiled much. It seems like they are still keeping the final battle under wraps and I can't wait to see that on the big screen.

Wednesday can't come fast enough.

The writing is starting to concern me a bit. The lines aren't very good at all.

The action looks great and Kong himself is perfect, so I should at least be entertained. Not expecting a great movie, though.

I can see his point a little bit. As trailers, they are not exactly well put together. But I love most of the footage.

When will this trend of having serious and lighthearted trailers for the same movie die?

This trailer showcases more of a fun upbeat adventure picture rather than the slightly more serious, frightening survival adventure I was hoping for. Think Predator, it has fun and the one liners but the stakes are still high and the threat is real. It still looks like a super fun joyride and I can't wait to give it a watch this week.
