It wasn't that good of a show, but does anyone else think it's ridiculous that the company with two hours a week has more feuds and angles than than the company with soon to be 5 hours? I mean in TNA it feels like there is more going on.
Vince McMahon unfortunately has reached his expiration date and it has reflected onto the product. I don't know what it's going to take to change things in WWE right now as long as he's running creative.
I just watched the segments that I missed earlier on Impact. Last weeks show was definitely better and there wasn't a whole lot to like on Impact this week. One problem with this show was it felt like there were too many things being set up for the PPV. That should not happen 3 days before the show. Most of these segments should have been done weeks ago.
Positives
-Roode was tremendous on the mic as usual. He's the 2nd best heel in wrestling today and I popped every time he cut off Hogan.
-The KO 4 way was solid. It's nice to see the women of wrestling get a chance to work in TNA. Velvet was her usual terrible self in the ring, but I forgive her for being ridiculously hot. Mickie looks like she's leaned out some and I'm interested to see if they turn her heel and feud with Velvet.
-Austin Aries/Crimson was good. Aries is always great in his role and him vs. Joe should be awesome. I guess that spells the end of the Joe/Magnus team for now. I might be in the minority, but I like Crimson as a heel. Sure he in not great by any means, but he's much more suited for that role than as a face. I'm guessing James Storm or some other returning name answers his challenge at the PPV.
-Bully Ray is fantastic on the mic as usual, despite the horrid angle he is involved in.
Negatives
-The Dixie angle is absolutely wretched and makes zero sense. Why wouldn't Dixie just fire Daniels and Kazarian? This really makes her look weak and incompetent, not to mention why wouldn't she just come clean and tell Serge the truth. We all know the two are not having an affair. Dixie gives off zero authority and presence, and is a terrible actress. She is better suited for video packages and promotion. Leave her off TV as a character please. I feel bad that AJ is caught up in this stupidity.
-Brooke Hogan. Enough said.
-Garett/Devon vs. The Robbies. UGH, how many times must we see these guys wrestle again and again. It's the same thing each week. Garett still sucks and Devon is not entertaining. The Robbies are one of the worst gimmicks in wrestling and both suck in the ring. Oh and I HATE HATE HATE that they are setting up a storyline that Madison Rayne's crush is going to be on Garett. UGH! What a waste of a talented Knockout, not to mention this reeks of politics and a cheap way to try to get Garett over with the crowd.
-Abyss' storylines have been terrible for years and this is just another one. TNA would be well served to keep him off TV for a whole year, but that will never happen. He keeps getting shoved down our throats and he is a worn down character. Abyss reminds me of Kane once WWE took the mask off of him. His character is in the same place.
-Too much recap of the Dixie storyline on the show.
Everything else was just there. The main event was OK. I'm not crazy about Roode tapping out 2 weeks in a row on television, but as long as it leads to a clean pin over Sting Sunday, then all will be forgiven.
It was good to see Joey Ryan on the show. Clearly he is going to be brought back. I could have done without Al Snow taking him out by the neck though.
The Three Way set-up with Hardy, RVD, and Anderson felt like it was just thrown out there. It was a harmless segment, but it really reeks of last minute booking with no clear plan for any of those wrestlers. The good thing about the segment though it it makes the World Title look important. Oh, and Anderson really REALLY needs to do something to freshen up his character.
