The shooting in GTA always sucked. I can't see how it could be any worse in this game.

I wouldn't be surprised if the game opens up more after it's over. You can then go around and do whatever. APB's, news paper, cars, ect.
Subpar? Clunky?I hated both the shooting in GTA and Red Dead. It never felt right and I don't like the subpar clunky cover system in these games. It does return in Noire but it seems a little bit better plus you're not doing it all the time so it hasn't bothered me too much yet.
Well, it's probably worth mentioning...that Rockstar didn't make this game. They published it, but didn't develop it. Team Bondi deveoped it.
It's an adventure game with elements of free roam.
I was working a case, and had a location to head to for further investigating...but I took a call over the radio and went there instead. I don't know for sure, but I would imagine I'd be able to collect the cars, badges, film reels, newspapers, and landmarks.
But, I don't believe you're never not working a case. The story is always moving forward once you make progress in each case.
I think you answered your own question, if you love crime stories and the 40's this game was basically made for you. Just keep in mind its not an action game by any means although the car chases are absolutely fantastic
The detective aspect is ALOT of fun, IMO, and really adds something to the game.
I knew they didn't make it, but as publisher they have to OK the game...
And you could go back to the main menu, and find "Streets of L.A." in the cases menu. That's sandbox mode.
See, I thought it was really great too. Until I did it for the 5th time.It still has substance due to the fact it's NEVER been done before, but it's disappointing to know that it's all I'll be doing...
Eh? Theres been tons of detective games.
Thanks,man1. I haven't committed any wrongdoings myself, but I do know that it will affect your final score when you close a case. Since your always on a case, if you cause property damage or cause damage to your vehicle, or cause injuries, it deducts from Coduct which deducts from the final star score they award at the end of a case.
2. More like Red Dead. The control scheme is slightly different, too. No button presses when running towards a scalable wall. The Shooting is alot like Red too.
Basically, it's a very different and innovative approach to the genre, like Bioshock was. You can't just run and gun your way through that game, because you'll get ****ed up real quick. You have to actually think about what you're going to do.
