BvS Larry Fong is the cinematographer!

Why did the guy randomly throw in a saturated shot from BvS? doesnt even look like he colored it, just made it brighter.

I wonder how much longer he will keep this up.

He shouldn't even have started, there are going to be thousands of bridge trolls coming out to join the throng after seeing he responded even once.

Yeah BvS shot in the video was really confusing.I know he was trying to make a point but that shot wasn't that dark in the teaser.

A lot of people are missing the point. Try retouching any video/photo without having the raw original format. You'll end up with a distorted image, hence the oversaturated colours. His point was to show how dark the film's final colours were. He took those already dark frames and tried to make them seem the closest you can make them to natural colours. It's like taking those black and white photos of actors and making them colour. They will never truly look right. Same thing here.

Same player, same settings :

The real MoS is the upper one.
It's really time to shut their "lab"...

Screeshots from movies that Larry Fong has shot.

Oops, misread your post Casval. I read the above one as your tweak and the below as the original from MOS. My mistake.

A movie is too dark if watching it doesn't feel like a kaleidoscope is, as Johnny Depp would say; "skull****ing you to death".

So they straight up lied to make their point look better? EL-OH-EL.

Screenshots? They were images? Couldn't see anything but darkness. :o

Should have gotten a true visionary for cinematographer. What's the guy who did Thor: The Dark World up to these days?

Filters are added for a reason. The original footage rarely looks good, add a little effect/filter and it's suddenly beautiful and emotional. Learn to appreciate what these people do. It's art. If it's not your cup of tea - fine, but don't try to force your "opinion" on others.

Some of the 'color correction' shots actually do look better. But it varies.

And the thing is, why are people bombarding Fong with this video? He didn't film MOS for one, and the palette for BVS looks noticeably different.

I can't believe the main page actually posted this video as "news."

"What if Man of Steel was in color?" I must have missed the black-and-white version in theaters. And on Blu-Ray .

But it wasn't as bright as Avengers or First Class, so it's so dark you can barely see anything and there are no colours.

Gotta say, the original brighter image captures the serene and cold setting better. The latter is more cinematic, but I don't think it really adds to the photo other than the post-processed look.
