Last Action Hero

well, most of them. its on bluray tho and well worth it, the quality is superb

wait, it is OUT on BR? dang *goes to find it on ebay*.

just bought it for 9 bucks with free shipping from ebay new and sealed :awesome:!

I enjoyed this movie for the most part. The only thing I didn't like about it was the kid. I don't know why, but that actor always annoyed me. But all of Arnold's scenes and lines were great. I could totally see Hollywood cashing in on the cult status of this film and doing either a sequel or a remake.

For years I thought I was the only one who loved this movie. It was awesome to see the levels of spoofing the nonesense of action movies received. I mean dude, who doesn't love a movie where Arnold casually kicks a guy in the nuts so hard he flies 15 feet over his head and crashes behind him? His solution to being drenched in tar...TAR is to use one sheet of a paper towel. I just reveled in its crazyness and fun. I always saw this as a key example of Arnold having a sense of humour and being able to laugh at himself. (Compared to dead serious Steven Segal)

The best part of this movie is when the kid plays chicken on his bike and then realizes he's screwed. haha I use to die laughing seeing his bike hit the top of that house so awkwardly.

Good movie, but I always thought it was a ripoff of Cloak and Dagger.

I loved when he is disarming him self in "Jack Slater III" and you see this HUGE pile of guns landing on top of each other, where were they all on his person? oh and when Slater tells Danny that 'theres a gun in the glove compartment' and Danny opens it up and like 5 or 6 guns fall out of it :awesome:. Oh and Slater's daughter is HOT (same actress who played Sonya in the 1st MK movie) :hrt:.

oh and GREAT 'one liners'!

"Iced that guy, to cone a phrase"
"Could I speak to the drug dealer of the house, please?"
"Leo "the Fart" is gonna pass gas one more time."
"Why am I wasting time with a dime-store putz like you when I could be doing something much more dangerous, like re-arranging my sock drawers?"
"I mean, all I had to do, is just drive around the neighborhood, and point my finger at a house, and say 'The bad guys are in there!'"
"You've seen these movies where they say "Make my day" or "I'm your worst nightmare"? Well, listen to this one: Rubber baby buggie bumpers!"

:woot:

A sequel probaby won't ever happen, seeing as this movie bombed so badly at the box office, but I do wonder what a Last Action Hero 2 could've been like.

Look an Elephant

I love this movie!! I want to get it on Blu Ray

If I can get the Blu-ray for cheap I will, I normally don't buy barebones BDs but having the movie in Widescreen HD would be nice, seeing as the Fullscreen DVD is the only one I've ever come across over the years.

I think if the movie came out a few years later, when the action genre had cooled some...it probably would have been better received

I enjoy the hell out of it....the funeral scene is fantastic

I think the kid brings down the movie a bit, he borders on obnoxious at times.

Other than that, I really love this movie. The part where Arnold laments his existence as an action-movie character and we find out how pathetic his life really is midway during the movie is surprisingly deep.

the avg price of Last Action Hero on BR on ebay is between 7 and 12 bucks with shipping so I doubt you are gonna find it any cheaper unless you get it used ;).

I'm jumping on the bandwagon. I love this movie, watched it all the time on HBO as a kid. Tom Noonah is great as the Ripper and also love Charles Dance.

"Take his shoes?"

"If God were a villain, he'd be me."

I might snag the BD eventually, and I'm always looking out for sales as well, so one day I'll probably get it.

Hahah .... awesome that this thread was made. I was sitting there looking for the "Bad movies you like" thread to talk about it.

Still one of my favorite Arnold movies. It wasn't even so much about the plot, it was the humor I liked the most.

One of the best action movies ever IMO. Love the way it makes fun of the action movie genre but at the same time, celebrates it.

I honestly don't understand why it's so underrated.
