1. I am not one of the writers so quit asking me questions about the writing of characters...haha. I am just telling you what the most likely case is. They are saving him for a big opening sequence, big and integral part, etc. But beleve what you want that is up to you. Just telling you my perspective on the whole situation.
2. It is just hard choosing whether characters should be in or out considering the huge cast and character list. You can't please everyone in 2 hours with so many characters. The ball was dropped on alot of things because they had no choice. And all I can say is they don't want a blink and miss cameo of Gambit that will just be ignored in a future movie.
3. Well your one of those people who thinks recasts and sequels past 3 automatically mean suckage right?? No use arguing here because you already have decided that. I personally feel the franchise can goe through those stages and still maintain quality.
1. And I'm just telling you my point of view on the matter. It's happened with characters just as important, if not moreso, than Gambit before, so the whole "cameo ruins their grande entrance later" excuse is hypocritical.
2. True, but I guarantee that you'll please more fans with Gambit and Nightcrawler than you would with Quill, Arclight, and Multiple Man.
3. Yes, I do... because movies aren't comic books, and are more realistic. It will break continuity to have characters played by different actors every couple of years. And when adapting something like a comic book, that spans for decades, that we're lucky to get 3 movies out of (a grand total of less than 6 hours worth of adaptation), you have to be selective in what you adapt, and that means you can't just through in everything under the sun. You have to pic the most important characters and relationships, the most definitive. That is why I don't want to see the X-Men movies continue, because it will be without Xavier, Jean, Wolverine, Storm, probably even Cyclops and Rogue... all of those the most definitive characters of the X-Men mythos. A movie, an adaptation, using a core of Kitty, Colossus, Iceman, and Gambit, as cool as those characters might be, aren't "definitive" of the core X-Men, and shouldn't be front and center in an adaptation.
