The Dark Knight Ledger: Joker darker more sinister

Two Face said:
There are teenagers who enjoy darker Batman comics I know people who some do enjoy it. I'm 23 and I love Batman (not in a gay way)

i'm sixteen and i love darker Batman.

and to be fair, i have only ever seen chicks read manga, whereas i have seen alot of guys reading graphic novels.

I said this in another thread but what the heck.
the character Lil' Ze (formally known as Lil' Dice" in the movie City of God reminds me of the Joker in regards to his taking over and murderous habits, that realism with Alex's theatricallity makes a pretty sinister Joker

:Ah I SEE SPIDEY, you still haven't lost your ability to ruffle a few feathers ;)

The eyes comment probably means that they're going to make Joker look really sinister. Like a really scary looking Joker.

His laugh is of course very important. It's one of the main ways that he expresses his villainy.
I'm just an innocent little girl, whatever do you mean?:meow:

Regardless of rating, Joker shouldn't be a rapist. It just doen'st seem like the kind of thing he'd be into doing. I dont think Joker has EVER been portrayed as a rapist.

In the graphic novel 'The Killing Joke',there is speeculation that the Joker raped Barabra, as well as commisioner Gordan, to try and make him go insane.

Alan Moore (the writer) has said in interviews that the Joker DID raped Barabara (after he shot her) as well as Commisioner Gordan but of course DC stoped it from being shown in the books, but it could only be implied.

The Joker.............raped....James Gordon?
 :csad:

No way.

You gotta be kidding me

Anyone have links to these supposed interviews??

Raped Gordon? I hardly think he's the type to take a moustache ride.

Wouldn't surprise me.
It is Alan Moore we're talking about.

That's what I thought.

I read that he made a comic about three classic female characters from well known books and fairytales who go **** eachother in a motel for 250 pages.

So he pretty much went the NC-17 Shrek route.

If it is true, then I'll go INSANE

Alan Moore is entirely intellectually intrepid, and we must appreciate him for that. Nevertheless, the man himself did not want TKJ to become cannon, and the characterisations in that comic were generally unorthodox.

Well regardless of whether or not the Joker raped Barbara or... Commissioner Gordon in the Killing Joke (I'm pretty damn sure he did no such thing), I think anyone hoping or expecting to see the Joker raping anybody in TDK isn't going to get their wish. Even if Nolan or Goyer would go for that, which I doubt they would, there is no friggin way WB would ever allow it.

The below quote is regarding the supes film and why it didn't make as much money as Spider-man... page 6 on the thread, post 135.

Also because he didn't punch anyone the entire movie.

Nor did Chris Reeves Superman in the original Donner film :woot: .

Well, that was the first Superman movie, he didn't have anything to live up to. Now that he's been in so many incarnations, it's time for his ass to start smacking fools around.

Not sure if this has been posted....an article from MSN today.

"When he explained to me the angle he wanted to take, I was like, 'Yeah, I could do that,'" Ledger says. "[Nolan's] going to make it a lot more sinister, and we've got a little plan for him, but it's exciting. Any opportunity to don a mask is always exciting to me."

I'm assuming (hoping) he means a metaphorical mask??

Damn . . . I'm glad you posted that in this thread too, otherwise I'd have likely missed it!! That is an EXCELLENT point . . . . that character was very menacing and City of God remains one of my favorite movies ever . . . it's like a Brazilian Goodfellas

So, Joker raped both Barbara and James Gordon...

Is he "crazy enough" now? :/

Could you imagine this scene in TDK? It will would be the most talked about film of 2008!

Could you imagine that scene in TDK? Wow! That would be the most talked about film of the year! Ledger could win an Oscar.

Hey, maybe that is why Ledger got the role!

I don't have the link, but I can back that up. I've read it before, forgot where though.

Regardless of what Moore said, I still prefer that Joker didn't rape Gordon. Barb however, I can understand. And it's not like the idea is too out there. Joker shot her, then proceeded to take her clothes off and take pictures. His goal was to drive Jim crazy, and really, there's nothing worse for a father than seeing his "daughter" getting taken advantage of in a vulnerable position. It's sickening, yes, but it's right along the lengths Joker would go through to make his point.

Frankly with Ledger emphasizing all this "sinister" stuff, I wouldn't complain if it was implied he did something to a woman (Rachel for instance). Obviously that type of thing wouldn't be shown for such a mainstream franchise, but to leave it open-ended (like TKJ did), would be fine imo.

Agree.

Welcome to the Hype!

Heath is an ass. He is in no way anyone special, and not the Joker, he says he won't be doing what Jack did, and he's been talking like Jack did something wrong, well he is wrong. What Jack did was play the Joker the right way, all Heath wants to do is a clockwork orange type thing, just a rip off, these people like Nolan and ledger don't know these characters and just wanna' do their own thing. Well they suck, BB sucks, and I really don't care what any Nolan lovers say at all.

Batman 89 is the best Batman and only Batman movie ever made, BB is a sad pretender, I don't care about Bale being more fit etc., he stinks, he's a wimp, and he talks like he has a mouth full of spit, also he can't talk like Batman for anything.

That voice is such a joke. Ledger is a joke.
