The Dark Knight Ledger: Joker darker more sinister

I only hope we see Joker with a broken face and a bloody nose, maybe even have him cry when he gets his ass handed to him by Batman!

More Clockwork Orange-like? Does that mean Joker is gonna pummel someone to death with a giant oversized *****? Hell yes.

Hmmm...maybe he could pummel someone with a..."crow-bar"...*Doctor Evil laugh with pinky pointed at mouth*

YES !!!!!!!!! Batman Begins was a more mature/adult movie and they should keep it for the sequel. No kids, just hardcore. Nowadays a big part of Batman fans is not between 6-16, more like 25 and up. The new generation reads Manga comics, so they should concentrate on adults.

I think your psychotic. And not the good kind, more like crazy minister kind of psychotic. And fool.

I have watched Sin City and some action sequences were great. I thought of:
Hey that could have been Batman jump out of the door and kick some police men, jump into a police car, fighting corrupt policemen (Loeb and others).
The action in Sin City was dark, but CLEAR. It was like... hey he crushed his teeth, broke his legs it was really hard.
A more clearer view for the action sequences is my wish for the sequel. Maybe Nolan can have a look how great action sequences can be with a clearer view. Thats my only wish for the action element. Maybe they will improve it.

There are teenagers who enjoy darker Batman comics I know people who some do enjoy it. I'm 23 and I love Batman (not in a gay way)

Do I know you ?

You can only go so dark when your protagonist doesn't kill people. And I'd much rather they nail the laugh than the contacts.

Here's the thing. If this film is going to be as dark and mature as the crew and cast is making it out to be, it's going to lose some of its general appeal; specifically, kids. Children are a huge money draw, especially for a character like Batman.

This is exactly why I don't see this film passing, or even reaching, $300 million domestically, as Jett is so confident of. This is also why I hope the budget for this one is less than that for Batman Begins. Take out the big "blockbuster" action scenes, and make it a down-to-earth thriller/mystery/suspense story.

You know, I know and everybody in this forum knows there's no way in hell they're going to do that...

I've never seen Clockwork Orange, but the interview sounds good. Though I hope the focus on the menace behind the eyes doesn't mean we don't get to hear any laughs or jokes.

I loved the "it's all about the eyes" part. Reminded me of what the guys said about The Joker on the B89 SE disc.

And then half the people on this board would be complaining non-stop "It needed more action! It needed more action!"...

You are kidding yourself.

I'm tired of everyone trying to take the Bat out of Batman. You want down to earth, real, watch a documentary. This is a comic book film and not like Road to Perdition or A History of Violence or even Sin City. It's a superhero comic book movie. Quit trying to take out all the elements that make it what it is.

There is still a man flying around the roof tops of Batman as a bat, and a badass bat at that - I think that is still pretty close to the character of the comic books. Just because the Joker will not be a kiddy and campy as he was in say most of the TAS episodes or Batman 89 is not exactly a bad thing.

Oh I'm not saying don't have action. Despite the editing, Batman Begins had very good fight scenes. It just doesn't need to be:

OMG I HAVE TO STOP THE TRAIN CARRYING THE MICROWAVE EMITTER BY COMPLETELY DESTROYING IT, TAKING OUT A SECTION OF THE CITY ALONG WITH IT!!

Bingo. This is the mothaf'n Batman!

The guy seems to get it. I'm looking foward to him.
