I actually timed it. From when Batman says "Where's dent" and to the part he says "What would I do without you?" Is 20 seconds long.

I just checked on youtube for past oscar nomination clips, and the clips ranged from 20 to 30 seconds. So, yeah, 30 seconds is the maximum.

You know what would of been great if he had still been alive to "Hopefully" get a nomination and he did get nominated and Jack Nicholson would of presented the award to him. How Iconic and Awesome of a moment would that have been?

hmm, i think the Why So Serious speech is about as long, as well as that scene with Rachel, those monologues are a perfect length and carries a strong enough impact. i'm reviewing the hospital scene with Dent and although those are also good the impact of his performance doesnt carry through until the end, which unfortunately the entire scene is more than 30 seconds long.

Also, it would for once and for all stop people from blabbering (fanbois and the general public alike) how Jack is probably "jealous" or bitter. A great actor like him doesn't need to be jealous of another great interpretation of the same great character he once portrayed, he'd be proud and happy. At least in my opinion, anyway. I honestly think the only thing he was 'bitter' about was not getting paid [royalties?] anymore LOL.

Do you guys think that there will be a memorial for him at the next Academy Awards? Also, WHEN he wins the Oscar for best villain and best supporting actor, I think the role that they will show will be the scene with all the mobsters in the room, right after the "pencil trick" scene. The dialogue in that scene was incredible. Because it shows just how demented he really was (in character). I think that they should end it when he is holding the line that is attached to all the grenades in his coat and Gamble asks "You think that you can steal from us and get away with it"? Then Mister J says....."Yeah".....then cut back to the awards. And the award for best supporting actor goes to...........HEATH LEDGER FOR THE DARK KNIGHT!!!!!!

At least that's how I kind of envision it.

I don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but what about when he crashes the party. They could use the part where he first enters the party and starts harassing the guests. I love how real the Joker was in that scene. Eating the food and grabbing the drinks and slapping the guests. I think that little bit of the party scene would be perfect to show different aspects of Heath's mannerisms as the Joker.

I'd go with the Mob Meeting or the Interrogation scene; the only two scenes that are really hot wired into my head and find it em' to be some of the greatest movie sequences of all time; if not that, then the greatest. :heart:

The hospital bedside scene, though I think his "everybody loses their minds" delivery was a misstep. Too much like the "dog chasing a car" thing. But it's a really strong scene.

The Roeper clip was shown after that clip was posted in IGN among other promotional clips and before the movie premiere. It's not because it was the best, but because it was the only clip available that didn't spoil the movie more than necessary.

I disagree, I personally think that if Depp can get nominated for Sparrow, Ledger at least deserves a nomination as well.

i dont know why Ledger shouldn't be considered for a nomination when Johnny Depp was for Pirates (and I love's Depp's performance). Honestly, even if Ledger doesn't win, nominate him. You really need to see his other performances to see how much effort Ledger put into the Joker.

I've met people who said that Ledger was good but not great. Then I asked them to watch his other movies, and bam, they changed their minds.
