Legend of Korra brought to you by Platinum Games

Like I said it depends on who reviewed it but I've seen alot of poor done reviews of good games from there . well that was prior . which mean's I have to start remembering the names of some certain ones which ones do the poor & good reviews & who's not to bother with if they have track record with poorly done ones.

Here are the codes for unlocking the secret costumes in korra's room. Apparently, they were given out at conventions or something.

Up - Down - Up - Y - X - Y Chi Blocker Korra

up, up, down, down, square Spirit Korra

The franchise actually seems like it would have made a solid JRPG-esque game.

Thank you so much. That was annoying me.

An action game is actually a good fit for it considering how bending can naturally be used to create a lot of different fighting types.

well it can work as a Action RPG have look the same as this. I can see that being done and you still have bending done the same unlocking new abilitys/ moves.

IGN is worthless junk anyway. It's definitely not near a 4. The combat is actually pretty polished, if very basic, and it runs smooth. The more I play, the more I think of Rising than Bayonetta, though, which is interesting considering how both of them were done on short time tables.

Not finished it yet, but I've probably give it a fairly solid 7.5-8.
Platinum has great fundamentals. Which is why on a short time table they can make playable games. But considering they were working on two big titles while this was rushed, I don't think they put any heavy hitters on it.

I finished Chapter 6 and there's 2 more chapters to go. I'm having fun with it but there's no doubt it's not as robust as games that cost 10+ million dollars to make and cost $60+DLC$. But I wasn't expecting that.

The excellent cartoon fails in some fundamental ways in its transition to the gaming world.

wow a mediocre 5.5 . ( which is what the 5 one means up here in North America out of 10) Well they were nicer about then the reviewer of IGN.

I don't know what game these guys are playing. Not great by any means, but no where near these scores.

Two more trophies and I net the Platinum.

Guess which I'm missing.

* Beat the game on Extreme. (I'm on Chapter 5)

* Beat the Ace Pro-bending. (Got frustrated after an hour of failing to win the last match / #5)

I agree that the poor reviews are ridiculous. It's a nice little game, and amazing for the price point. (I'd happily pay more for a bigger/better sequel)

I'm missing a few of the Steam achievements (not sure if they are the same on different consoles).

I need to beat Extreme mode (I'm not sure I can. The Naga run on Chapter 5 (I think) is a *****, and I might have to cave in and not bother.) Other than that, there's just a bunch of collection/purchase based achievements that will just need a little time to complete.

This game is so much fun, sure it isnt GREAT but it is far from bad. For the budget they had, they did a great job. Would love a proper sequel. I've always thought this would make a perfect game if done correctly.

so this game isn't as bad as the reviews have made it out to be?

it was only two reviews alot of others have gotten to this yet EPN.TV & giant bomb(the latter of the two may not touch it, they tend to have been skipping stuff of late ) have yet to do so . And I'm sure there are others that liked it better.

The Legend of Korra review: Bend it like Bayonetta

(Oct 24th 2014 6:30PM)
Bending the elements like folks do in The Legend of Korra is an intoxicating dream. Much as they did in the original Avatar: The Last Airbender cartoon, many people born in Korra's world can freely manipulate the four elements through martial arts. The Avatar, born into every generation to maintain...

The game is fairly hard on normal. The Rev3 guy said he had a harder time on playing Korra than Bayonetta 2. I'd say the game gets easier as you unlock the bending which leads to kind of an odd difficulty curve.

Its launch price is $15. Just don't go in expecting as robust a game as a $60+ game. That said I was pleasantly surprised that there is an in-game item shop where you can equip up to 4 different items at a time and customize your experience. This really comes into play when playing through on Extreme.

In regard to trophies, the two hardest are the ones I mentioned in my last post. One more trophy I need to get and I get the Platinum. Be sure to complete every single tutorial or you can miss the "Jill of all trades" trophy or you'll have to start over with a new game. The hardest trophy is the one I'll soon hopefully get, which is beating pro-bending on Ace mode.

I'd give the game about a 6. You would think with the game being given 3s that it was pretty broken or something. It's not, it's just lacking in content and can be a bit hard.

Do you not do tutorials automatically? I was curious about that.

The prompts are automatic but if you don't do exactly what they say within that time frame they are on the left side of the screen you can miss them and then you won't get the trophy in Chapter 8. The trophy is missable, and requires starting over with a new game save to reactive the tutorials because they clear.

As you play the game and acquire new abilities and do new activities for the first time, you will be presented with what are essentially checklists of things to do. These will appear as white text on the left side of the screen below your bending styles and health bar. Performing the actions listed will place a red check mark over them to denote they are done. You must perform every one of them throughout the game before finishing the section, they don't appear again on subsequent playthroughs via chapter select. (At least they didn't for me.)

Well damn, I had not even noticed that. ****, guess I'll have to do that last and start a new game or something.

Considering the price of the game and thus the budget of the game, it was very well done. Graphics were good, storyline decent, multiple ways to bend with each element. It just sucks that it a very quick game, took me 48hrs to finish and that is only because I played it before I went to bed, and you can only go into Avatar State in the last level.

If you enjoy the show and have $15 lying around, i say go for it, it's basically like getting an extra episode that you get to interact with.

Guess I was doing the tutorials without realizing, because I got the cheevo for it. I'm missing a few cheevs, but I'll pick them up on Extreme. Is there a trick to getting cabbage? I only got one my whole play through

I really liked this game. I wish there was more of it. If you compare it to a $60 game, it lacks detail and size... but in exchange for having a lot of detail and size you get $45 bucks. That's a deal to me. The game looks good, it's fun to play (especially once you get counters down). It's definitely the best game of it's price point I've ever played.

Chapter 7.

In the part with

giant spirit Korra, defeat all the small little equalist guys but not the giant mechs. You'll get a cabbage. Then let the mechs defeat you.

Repeat until you get as many cabbages as you need and then complete the Chapter instead of being defeated. They all add up and the trophy or achievement will pop up then when it shows you what you obtained at the end of the Chapter.
