this month, PWInsider reported that the upcoming ‘Street Fighter’ film is set to begin production next month, with Roman Reigns slated to finish his commitments the week of September 26th.

In today’s edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer revealed that Cody Rhodes is set to be done with filming by September 20th, with some crossover between the two WWE Superstar’s dates on set.

“Rhodes will be done filming by 9/20. I was told that Rhodes and Reigns’ filming dates are noted the same and there is some crossover on dates both will be there but not a lot.”

Questionable casting choices aside, I do like the way they announced it.

‘Street Fighter’ Moves to Paramount as Legendary Deal Becomes Official

The project has an Oct. 16, 2026 release date as Legendary inks a three-year deal with Paramount.

Was wondering if they would set this in the 80’s or 90’s. Assassin’s Fist went a similar route.

andrew koji as ryu is the one casting that gives me any sort of hope about this film.

he was great in warrior and i think he'll make an awesome ryu.
he's great with fight scenes - and he can pull off that stoic badass with charm and depth really well - something that ryu should be.

other casting i'm either ok with, not sure about, or think it downright sucks (andrew schultz )!

At least Ryu and Ken seem to be the main characters this time around instead of Guile or Chun Li.

I’m sure Koji, Centineo, Liang, and Dastmalchian will be great, regardless of how this turns out. Not optimistic it will be good, though.

Still hoping they announce Sagat, but I’m not optimistic with 17 characters, plus Gouken.
