Devil May Cry Coming To The Big Screen

How was the gameplay Vileone? As good as DMC 3? I heard there is no lock on target in this one and it locks on enemies automatically.

The main reaoson I liked the original games were cause of the gothic anime influenced type style with the hyper combat. With DmC the whole Dante VS Bill O Riley and V for Vendetta Virgel stuff just isnt setting right with me at the moment. Same with new Dantes attitude or look. Level design looks awesome but the in your face modern political allegories were never a thing I was dieing to see in a DMC game.

Ill give it a shot. They have yet to impress though. I liked the characters and art design in the original, didnt need this big of a change imo.
It's similar and identical to 3 IMHO.

Now Dante has two sets of weapons. He's got a demon set and an angel set. He's no longer half-human. He's now half-angel/half-demon. I'd say that's the biggest difference that you have two different weapons. You will need to use different weapons and items depending on the situation.

Calling it a ripoff of Bayonetta is silly considering Bayonetta didn't invent what was in this game. I think it'd be a ripoff of Bayonetta if there was a similar heroin. It's like saying Uncharted is a ripoff of Tomb Raider. There'd be no Bayonetta without Devil May Cry anyway. Or it's like saying Fall of Cybertron and War of Cybertron are Gears of War clones.

It might not work but I like the idea of a more personal, involved story for Dante where the stakes are higher. Again I like the old games but Dante is at times so lackadaisical like he can't be bothered about what's going on. He's doing it more because he doesn't have much else going on.

An actual romance would be nice instead of all the noncommittal flirting with the girls would be nice as well.

Bayonetta was actually created by the guy who created the original Devil May Cry. But that isn't even the point, the point is the two worlds concept is straight ripped off of Bayonetta.

And how can it have identical gameplay to DMC 3 without the styles and lock-on? Unless you are telling me they are in the game.

I couldn't agree with you more on your views towards this new version of Dante. The previous games made Dante out to be a non error making badass, he performed everything without effort and rarely showed any sense of strain being placed on him. This new version of Dante seems much more human, he still retains his cocky demeanor, but all the finesse the original Dante had, this one seems a bit more "brutal" for lack of a better term. As far as the film goes, I would much rather the film makers follow suit with this new incarnation as opposed to the original.

Dante is suppose to be Superman. That is what makes his encounters with those that can harm him all the more meaningful.

Yeah him being stylish and unstoppable was kinda the point and fun. Dudes like Blade.

Where are all these new strong character moments from the new Dante coming from that makes him a better character then the original? I havnt seen **** besides him saying **** alot, fighting a slurm monster, fighting a FOX news level, flying around his apartment naked and one scene with Virgel.

Good to hear you liked the combat. Ae there different styles to switch from? Or does the new Angel Demon form thing take that over.

It is an assumption that there will be some kind of depth, but truthfully it looks far more hollow then the original series. The original Dante didn't need to wallow or look dirty to convey emotions.

It's too early to tell. We're comparing te complexities of a character between released game(s) and a single not-yet-released reboot.

problem is the story is'nt very good you just go around killing demons and looking bad ass in the process.

the gameplay is what is so great about the games

sounds like the Resident Evil movies.

THIS SHOULD BE A HIT!

The sibling rivalry between Dante and Virgil is def the strongest story route to go. Throw in Lady as a demon hating merc sidekick for some tension and it should be a fun a ride. This should have the energy like the intro to Blade. Alot of similarities in the characters.

The film has to have the energy that the cut scenes of the games have. As long as it sticks to fast loud over the top action, hot gun wielding chicks, solid soundtrack and its gothic setting I think it has alot of possibilites. A director like Kazuaki Kiriya could really make it bad ass. Basically make it a live aciton anime.

anyone got suggestions for dante?

my choice would be chris hemsworth!!
