yea the one thing i like what assassin's fist did was cast a japanese actor for gouki (gaku space was really good in that role, btw).
and then joey ansah played akuma.
you can justify roman reigns as akuma in the same way in that gouki is no longer human once he's become consumed by the satsui-no-hado - so the original ethnicity of the character doesn't matter no more. but only in this very specific scenario.
he still speaks japanes though - i assumed they dubbed ansah? or ansah speaks japanese. haha
I keep wondering if the joke of Dan in this movie will be that he’s a white guy appropriating Japanese culture. But then I remember who’s playing him and…yeah…
Please everyone knows Ken is just color swap Ryu.![]()
Ken and Chun-Li look good there! Chun-Li here is already miles past whatever Legend of Chun-Li tried. If you've never seen that movie...don't.

I remember when that Chun-Li movie went into production. At the time, I thought, “The 90s Street Fighter was Batman & Robin level garbage so there’s no way a new movie could be any worse!” Boy, was I wrong. The Van Damme movie is awful (I do have love for Raul Julia as we all do but otherwise I find that movie pretty much unwatchable and over the years I’ve started to feel like JCVD may have been the WORST actor in the 90s action star realm, which really is saying a lot).
But that Chun-Li movie… sometimes I seriously wonder how these ideas get greenlit in the first place. Rebooting SF isn’t the worst idea and maybe it could be done via a series of films that focus on the individual characters but that movie is such a dull slog to sit through. It felt like it was only made to capitalize on whatever waning popularity Kreuk still had going for her after multiple seasons of Smallville. And let’s be honest… she was never even that good on that show to begin with.
I think the most entertaining thing about it was Chris Klein doing his best Ace Ventura, but even that doesn’t make up for all the mediocrity going on. I don’t know how I got to the end of that movie. I laughed so hard when they tried to set up Ryu and the tournament at the end. Now that I think about it, that crappy Mortal Kombat movie from a few years ago did the same tease at the end. Brilliant movie to take inspiration from. Good job, losers.
Good thing I never watched it!

Crazy how Michael Clarke Duncan as Balrog was the most accurate looking casting for that movie, and does he punch anyone? No, he uses guns.

And the less said about Vega being played by Taboo from the Black Eyed Peas, the better...
