During our viewing of Transformers, while we were waiting for the previews to start, there was a guy in the back who was drunk off his ass. And he'd loudly say stuff like "Yeah! Gonna watch Transformers." "Optimus Prime!" And other stuff because he was randomly talking loudly. Everyone in the audience was just rolling their eyes thinking we're gonna have to put up with this guy.
But someone must have complained because management escorted him out. Dude must have been in his 40's, dirty, and the woman with him looked embarrassed or drunk (couldn't tell which). When he was gone, the audience applauded.
Hell, when I walked into the theater, it was getting filled, I just said to the teens in the front row and the theater, "I better not see you talking or texting during this film. I'm just here to watch Batman on screen and hope you do the same."
That's actually more mild than what I said.
I probably would have told you to kiss my ass.
Can't stand this. The most disrespectful thing to do during a film is talk and ask questions, the latter more annyoing. My brother does this all the time. I threatened that if talked during TDK, I would kick his ass.

Try living in Miami where everyone talks like Tony Montana during a movie.

I'm surprised you didn't get popcorn thrown at you.Hell, when I walked into the theater, it was getting filled, I just said to the teens in the front row and the theater, "I better not see you talking or texting during this film. I'm just here to watch Batman on screen and hope you do the same."

If someone did that to me, I'd be tempted to talk really loudly during the movie, just out of spite.

People who talk during a film and are aware they are disturbing people are ignorant. I don't spend over 10 Euro to hear people beside me talking. Why do people need to text during a film? I'm pretty sure nothing life changing is happening in the span of 2 hours for them. What's even worse are ushers who are afraid to ask people to be quiet. When I worked at the cinema, I gave the beat down to people who would be talking.
Mother of God, I never swore at the people. I just said I wouldn't want them to talk. I never shouted or anything, and what's wrong with speaking up about it? People do talk and TEXT in the theater. They were a bunch of teens older than me anyway. I wanted to just speak my mind out of excitment and I didn't want it ruined for the first time so I spoke up. I can't believe I did it though, if you met me I wouls seem to be the last person who would do it.
I remember when I first saw SM3 there was this guy talking on his cell phone, his goddamn cell phone in the beginning of the film. This is what I meant and was afraid of happening with TDK.
It's a disrespect to the film and to the people watching.

My old roommate said something similar to me when we went to go to see TMNT. I told him that I'm not just there to see the movie, I'm there to hang out with my friends and enjoy myself. He decided to watch the movie by standing in the back, away from the rest of us. His loss. After that, and the tantrum he had over us enjoying Spider-Man 3 (which he liked too, oddly enough), I stopped going to the movies with him.
Truly. People are always going to talk, text and even talk on the phone in theaters, if you want to marvel in the masterpieces that these movies are, wait for the DVD and watch it at home and alone.
Are midnight showings anything like this? I've never been to one but if it's for a movie based on something that has a large fanbase, like a comic book, I can imagine the crowd getting crazy at certain parts.
What really irks me is when someone's cellphone screen suddenly comes on in the middle of the darkness, nearly blinding me and being generally distracting. But if it's not out for an unreasonable time, I don't really say anything. It's the screaming into your cell phone cause of bad reception or cause you can't hear over the movie crap that bugs me. But none of that really happens at the midnight shows...it's kind of like we're all hyped for the movie, and everything gets put on hold for however long the screen is lit up. And that's why I try to see a movie during the midnight or very first showings. It's all downhill from there....
