Now that King Obama has decided that it is the government's place to guide private companies to appropriate levels of compensation ... business groups want to know if Obama plans to do the same for labor union bosses. Katie Packer, executive director of the Workforce Fairness Institute says, "Given that union bosses' job performances have yet to be scrutinized despite numerous, credible reports that they have engaged in 'creative accounting' and have mismanaged and underfunded worker pension plans, while wholly funding their own, is deplorable."



Obama limit union executive pay? Are you kidding me? This guy owes his job to these union executives ... they get a pass. So, the answer to the question is a big, resounding "hell no." Obama knows who got him elected. Heck, just yesterday we linked to an article that explained how the labor unions are broke after paying to get Obama elected. I have a better chance with Angelina Jolie than businesses groups have of convincing Obama to touch labor union bosses.

What's more you later find out that they have been lying on reports to further enhance their own bonus' straight out of your pocket? If so I really want to work for you.

If you're funded by the government, then the government has a say in how you're are payed. Just like a shareholder vote.

When the government limits non-government funded companies then yes we are on an ugly slope.

I for one support governmental regulations. So yeah, that IS change from the previous 8 or more years. It began with the Reagan administration.

So do most conservatives. The difference is that we realize you can't regulate down to the minutae of business operations and expect American companies to remain competitive in a global economy. So, conservatives prefer to have regulation only when absolutely necessary and kept to a minimum . . . and let the free market regulate the rest of itself. It will, after all, tend to do that.

See, every regulation means compliance with that regulation. Compliance means cost. Cost means increased expenses, which leads to either reduced net income, or an increase in the sales price of products or services in order to make up for it. This is how business operates--compliance with regulations are a cost of doing business, just like labor expense and taxes.

You'll never be able to regulate a perfect economic environment; what you can definitely do, however, is suffocate the economy by imposing onerous regulations upon it in a quest for solving every problem that pops up.

Obama has fired CEO's...FORCED banks to take tarp money when they did not need it or want it, and then when they were forced to take the money, they then were forced to follow the governments rules...and the government is even refusing to allow companies to pay them back.

Now Obamas plan for the Pay Czar is to set the salries for ALL CEOs, not just the ones that we bailed out.

This is about government controlling private industry. This is about a government that is already being controlled, and NOT by the people.

No, the government is an institution. And they get to do a lot of things without our consent.

And are there companies that didn't receive bailout money that we now own stock in by default?

No. The companies we essentially own fully (Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac), most of (General Motors and AIG), or a part of (Citigroup and Chrysler Group) are the ones that received bailout money. Those are the ones that deserve heavy regulation since they received bailout money.

However, the extent of Obama's regulation is illegal. This is a mostly capitalistic economy where such regulation should not be allowed and is also quite pointless. However, the Obama Administration sees all CEOs and executives as corporate fat cats. It's a damn shame too because we had one President that was too far in the extreme in favor of corporate America and now we have one that is too far in the extreme against corporate America.

NOW, I have some problems with a few, most seem fine as far as their backgrounds......my main problem is, they were not vetted, as it seems in some cases. Also, there was no checks and balance with their appointments, along with the fact that they are accountable to no one.
